I can't be 100% because I wasn't paying much attention, but I'm sure it was Vaughn that MMM had on Saturday morning saying he had a 1 year option and had triggered it and when asked when he would be looking for a new contract he said November. If I'm right I guess that's what the party was for.

Dragons fought tooth and nail to keep JDB in the squad and upgraded his pay while he was out of the game. NO WAY they're going to throw him under the bed bus.
Vaughan was as good as gone so they won't care about the 8 week suspension. I suspect they'll try and get rid of him early if they think it's within their legal right to do so.

They said on NRL360 that he had triggered his PO, but that the board would have the capacity to tear up his contract.
The guy is meant to be paid over $800k per season.
Essentially he's just been suspended for a third of a season through his own actions.
If I was a club, I wouldn't be happy to extend a contract to a guy I'm paying a quarter of a million dollars to sit on the sidelines because he couldn't follow some basic rules.
But then again, my club likes paying guys big money to play reserve grade, or to ham it up as a poor 5/8 who can barely be bothered reaching out to tackle someone...

JDB is an absolute bell end, as are the rest of these guys. Whether they did the wrong thing or not, or were confused by the rules, they should just not have had a fucking party in the first place.
