It's a tight contest in the game tonight
Between Johnson's successful tackles and missed tackles that is

SJ is useless if he's not getting his usual points from kicking

I noticed last week or the week before when he tried to stretch out he just had no pace.
Injured without a doubt.
Makes you wonder what the injury is. The fact that he's playing makes me think it mustn't be too bad, so he should come good, which is why I wouldn't trade him. But I suppose if you've got plenty of trades and don't want to find out, fair enough. Or if you're wondering who goes for Cleary like I said before, fair enough too.

SJ isn’t kicking goals which is straight away minus 10 on the points you can expect from him. Secondly, he looks ginger, isn’t taking on the line, and hasn’t really looked anywhere near his best all year. I don’t need extra halves coverage. I’ve got halves coming out of my ears. Tohu will lose a bit of coin this week, making it possible in one trade. Tohu gets me 60 pretty much every week, and I’m raging that I traded him out last week. I can see why you wouldn’t agree with it, but I strongly disagree with it being an “awful” trade.
I think I agree. Even if this game is a one-off, losing GK plus some kms to Trindall makes him a 50ish player. Brings in not only Tohu, but guys like Crichton and Mahoney as maybe not being sideways
The counterpoint for me personally is whether I have the trades to afford slight upgrades like that, or it’s just sideways trading injuries (eg Fog, getting Cleary back) from here on

I wish Fog didn't get injured to warrant a SJ trade.
Haha changed my tune pretty quick.

I’d jumped to first in POD league, but captain Johnson is ensuring I won’t stay there

Brailey off for HIA, surely means SJ goes to hooker to hold down the middle defensively?

On the plus side, Macho Savage going good so I have no temptation to get Ponga this week.

Can’t be bothered to go back and find the post, but I think everyone on the top captains pick list this week either didn’t play or is going to have a sub 50 game. At least we’re all in the same boat.

Seem like they are good for 40-50 points, and a few red dots floating around and uncertainty on players...
I was considering one of them to trade out but after this SJ performance maybe they'll both stay.

With SJ not kicking, it might not be an injury it might just be that Trindall is a really good kicker. If Darryl Halligan played for the Panthers for the week, he'd get the kicking tee over Cleary.

You make good points, fair enough. The only thing I would query there is 10 points for goal kicking. I would usually guesstimate 7-8 for goal kicking.
Also guesstimate is a word apparently. I was expecting the red underline.

I don't get red lines on here and/or chrome for some reason. Love the word though.Mulvy wrote:

Take the point but not sure about example.
He was revolutionary for the 90s, but there’s probably a half dozen kickers better than him now. Cleary one of them
