Yeah I can't bring myself to captain a WFB either unless it's Supercoach.

Teddy or Trbo probably score 40 odd or have a great game for 60 when I take the risk and I wonder wtf do I bother?

Fifita with the bench shit means I can't pick and stick on him anymore.

Default to Haas, or Papalii if wanting to take a punt.

Though with Fifita, picking and stick still would've been alright. I voted him for the 103 and then again for the 43, but switched to Cleary/Haas for 57 while Fifita scored 69..

Only alternatives I have are Radley and ARey, oh and Grant if I’m brave.

    Haas looking like the winner

I'm quite tempted to go Doueihi this week.

I think I might be the only idiot person in the top 200 that doesn't own Cleary or DCE or Turbo.

I must love a bit of captaincy roulette

Bench Fifita + No-Fog means Holbrook is going in my Coaches-to-be-wary-of list

Still don’t get why people thought/think Cleary wouldn’t play. Named at 21 last week means he was close then. Did a full contact session on Monday. Provided he didn’t have a setback in training, was absolutely nailed this week.

I understand the hesitancy to captain a WFB but at this rate I think it's more than worth the risk.

Turbo has one score below 50 all year. He's having one of the greatest fullback seasons seen in years. After Fifita and Haas grabbed their 100's they've been fairly underwhelming by their standards.

Unless Cleary comes back I don't think Turbo is a huge risk to take as C particularly when I think he might actually be the most popular choice.

According to Coach Stats, 20.2% of people in the game have Turbo as captain this week.

    Cleary 15.62%
    Tedsco 4.67%
    Fifita 4.48%
    DCE 4.18%
    Haas 3.37%
    Hughes 2.58%

I also rarely captain a WFB, but it’s probably a smart choice to go with Turbo, unless you really need to take a big risk to jump up in the rankings. Even if he flops, he flops with 1/5th of players in the game but if he goes big, you’ll cry all weekend, like what happened when he scored 130 odd a couple of weeks back and I didn’t captain him…

Any views on best way to set up this bench?

Cheese, rapana, Burton, CHN, hynes, Verrils, tolo, angus.

Not really much loop option, basically every single player has a question mark kver their position/role or minutes.

Fml, even typing them out makes me sick, thinking about my rd 16 bench of Moses, ipap, fog, Harris.

CHN and Hynes are probably the ones likely to see sub-30 scores there so loop those two using Lolo?
CHN plays first so you get an early look at his score.

Someone might tell you a better way to use both Lolo/Angus to double loop but single looping is about all I can handle at the moment!

If you have Cleary you may as well captain him right ? Free swing if he plays and if he doesn’t you get the other option anyway, doesn’t really matter.

I can’t handle the looping world. I’ve done well with out it. Reckon I’ll just cheese, rapana, Burton, hynes. And hope that Hughes is rested, Simmonson to the wing, Cleary doesn’t play, CHN stays on bench and storm don’t rest the cheese after they put 50 on the raiders.

Just make sure you have a decent 18th man or an 18th man in the first place.

If I bring in Cleary and he doesn’t play then I’ll be left taking Pappys score which probably won’t be flash off the bench.

Cleary was capable of playing two weeks ago - Coach Ivan said that had it been a finals match he would've played.

Nevertheless, he didn't play that week or the following week.
    Why?

Because his shoulder sublaxation injury has such a high re-injury rate that unless I'm mistaken is more a question of WHEN rather than IF there is a reinjury (PYTM can probably add more depth on this one). The only way it gets fixed to full strength is through surgery (season ending).

Basically they try to get the joint as stable as possible, but any stretching action (reactive reaching for a tackle, stretching for a try) can immediately cause the joint to go.
Reed Mahoney's one for example was meant to be on the minor end of the scale, Cleary's was by all accounts worse.

So, yeah, they probably want to get some match fitness in to him before the finals.
But mainly, they want him to play finals and keep the risk as low as possible.

Every time they play their alternative halves, they improve their cover/experience for if something does happen to Cleary.
There's really not that much need for them to play him - so it's a risk management thing from their perspective I think.

Captaining turbo is really a question of how well you think Manly will do against Parra. He’s our most important attacking player and he pops up everywhere so if there are tries for the taking turbo will score well.

Thoughts on Joey Lussick as a potential cashout for Cleary? Is he likely to slot into Mahoney’s 70 minute role or is he likely to split more of the time with Will Smith? I don’t believe they’ve played together before.

It’s either him or Blore who seems to have a base of 45ish when playing 80 which I certainly wouldn’t mind at this stage of the year.

Turbo scored a Warney (out for 99) last time he played the Eels.

I am picking up Lussick this weak as a PoD over Blore, simply because why would they change their rotation. They have used Lussick twice this season as an 80 minute player. I think they just keep the rotation with Smith getting minutes elsewhere during the game and injury coverage.
