Speaking of someone who is 0-2

Newcastle Knights have sacked utility Dylan Pythian after he failed a secondary drug test.

Too many mistakes, turning the ball over on early tackles. The dragons won that game because of newcastles mistakes. Just far far too many.

Ross ... he can go spend some time in Reggies IMO until he gets some confidence back. The guy has not been the same player as he was before he broke those bones in his back. He cost the team a tries in both attack and defence tonight.

I would like to see us try and get jessie raimen early now that Moga has done his ACL again, poor bloke.

Ponga is the go to man when they have the ball, can do anything when he has the ball in hand

ponga has been our most dangerous player this year that is for sure. Every time he touches the ball he looks like he is going to do something good. Absolutely electric. Takes so much pressure off the halves.

Having a hooker that had a few runs this week helped us too.

Our forwards held the bronco's pack and ponga & pearce were the difference.

How long have you signed Ponga for ? Looks like the sort of player that rugby would be sniffing around ?

Ponga is light years ahead of anyone I've seen at the Knights this early in his career. His right foot step that attracts in two players and puts over his second rower is just beautiful. He's such an entertaining player to watch. I'd like to see him play off the shoulder of some forwards a little more but still very early days.

a 5 year deal mate, and looking every worth the 550/600k k a year they are paying him. Even if he just stays how he is, that will be a bargain.

    its brilliant isnt it
    or thuston to gavin cooper
its looking like its going to be one of the great combos going forward

ponga, pearce, fitz showed their class last night - just about everyone else was garbage.

Melboune put on a perfect example of working out a weakness (Brock lambs defence, sione's defence) and exploiting it, all night. Perfect game plan.

Slater got the biccies on Ponga last night, was waiting for the step back inside from him when he was away but it didnt come.

After round 6 newcastle are about where I thought they would be. Middle of the table - prob slightly below middle in reality. We get flogged by the great teams, will be up and down against everyone else.

Holy dooley ponga is good to watch though

Ponga is good, only problem at present is he only attacks down the left side, once he learns to attack either side he will be awesome

I reckon without him newcastle wouldnt have won a game this year
Newie really needs to start developing plays that use him as a decoy because their entire attack runs through him

Tim Glasby has reportedly agreed to terms with the Newcastle Knights and will join the club in 2019 on a multi year deal. An official announcement should come soon.

well done to glasby, fairly certain we look back at this signing as him cashing in when his value was at its absolute peak.

couldnt agree more. An average prop made to look good by cam smith (is he even made to look good by smith?)
Good move from him, I dont rate him though. Would love to be proven wrong
