Tough loss to take. About where I thought we would be for the season - leaking too many points and after a strong start string together some losses. Will need to step up over the next couple of weeks in defence or the season will slip away quickly.

We've signed Jesse Ramien from the Sharks - haven't really watched him closely, good buy?

ramien is a quality get, strong and fast. very hard for other centre's to deal with him 1 on 1 and can do a decent job of putting away his winger

most of the negatives you may have seen from him this year can put down to him being a 21 year old who has played like a dozen NRL games

From what I have seen of him, its an excellent signing. Big for his age - looks powerful yep.

The latest development in regards to Aaron Woods is the Newcastle Knights made contact with his manager through the week. It is clear the Knights are chasing an experienced front row after missing out on Matt Scott and Jarrod Wallace. They recently signed Tim Glasby however, the club still made contact with Woods manager which indicates they are still keen on acquiring his services.

i don't know why the raiders don't go after woods, they've lost their starters. their is full of higher impact type players (papali, tapine etc), they could use a guy who gets through work and still create 2nd phase footy for their outside backs. to me, woods at canberra would make alot of sense for both clubs and the player

i hope we dont get woods
have never liked him - he is a decent club prop but not for the money he wants

Then again his offloads for ponga and watson might be great around the ruck.. still.
No impact. Would much rather klemmer, or tolman who would come at a fraction of woods price

surely thats ross done in the centres, denniss didnt look all that good in attack but his defence was pretty great, albeit against parra.

fuck me kenny sio is terrbile. the sooner he is out of the side the better.
Watson is still not a half, maybe newie should look at playing him at centre when lamb or pearce are back.

Is ponga the next australian fullback?

Immediate signing of JJ felise - dont mind it.

Edrick Lee for next year - dont mind it if he is the 3rd choice winger.
Glasby for next year - average signing IMO.

Talks of Fergo - as a player sure, hes been close to the best winger in the comp this year, but fuck him, dont want the goose anywhere near the club.

I imagine one of us will end up pissed off about where Fergo ends up, but at least we don't have Lodge.

I've got more faith in Lodge staying on the straight and narrow than Ferguson, he's been bloody good this year though.

you would think that would just about be the end of his career.
Would be his 4th knee reco - amongst the other damage there, and mental scarring.

The bloke has been deadset outstanding for newcastle this year - his defence in the middle of the field is just about league best. We will really miss that. Hopefully he recovers but its a long shot.

We bought kostjayson or how ever you spell it to be our hooker and sure up the middle defence - never plays a game for newie and retires hurt.
Griffin has the same purpose - plays half a season and may possible have to retire hurt.
I assume jamie buhrer goes to hooker with levi on the bench, this injury may have just saved buhrers newcastle career.

Knights attempting to pry Klemmer away from the Bulldogs. I would absolutely love if we manage to pull it off. I'd imagine the Dogs won't want to because their fans will go mental and you'd think Klemmer is quite loyal to the Dogs, however in his position he's about to hit peak years and do you want to waste them going through a rebuild?

You would think they need to keep a Klemmer to be able to attract other talent.

from a dogs fans prespective, i can't see how our board could ever justify letting klemmer or jackson go, they're probably the only 2 players left that the entire fan base probably feel an attachment towards.

our cap situation is obviously still not great but its ok enough to not have to lose klemmer and there is no way we can use klemmer's money to improve the team because klemmer is consistently one of our best players, so what could we possibly ever gain from releasing him early?

not saying it won't happen because our clubs has made fuck up after fuck up since 2013ish but i think it would mean fans would lose faith in the new board/CEO & it'd probably be the first time fans go from blaming the old cast to the new cast and the board would have to know that

I cant see him coming, but would love it.

I called it ages ago when it looked like we were getting Graham - and a few blokes laughed here.
Klemmer is close to, if not the best prop in the game and he is only 24. The cunt is worth close to a million a year IMO and I wouldnt hesitate paying him that if I were the knights and could get him.

The knights side is looking pretty good for next year...
    Ponga
    Moga (or Lee)
    Sione (Or moga)
    Ramien
    SKD
    Watson
    Pearce
    Glasby
    Levi
    Saifiti
    Fitzgibbon
    Barnett
    Guerra

    Then other players including:
    Saifiti
    Heighington if he plays on
    Stone
    King
    Yates
    Lamb
    Denniss
    Ross
    and so on.

If we land a Klemmer, thats a fucking good side.

Top 8 side comfortably with Klemmer but I can't see the dogs letting him go.

what a comeback win.. spewing I couldnt watch it.
Unreal win..without Ponga too. If pearce didnt miss 12 weeks or what ever, Newie would have made the 8 for sure IMO.
