NRL Fantasy 2021 Part 88 - No Cleary, No Problem

Hey dudes, what's the go with Curran? Will we know if he's definitely out at 6pm tomorrow? Or is there a scenario where stays in line-up and is ruled out on Friday?

I'm actually at peace with him being out (despite also owning Doueihi) as it gives me a clear cut 17 to play, whereas at the moment I can't pick who to leave out out of Ponga, Brailey or Fifita.

I'm 99% sure Curran won't play, but until it's confirmed it's causing strong headaches for H2H final plans.

Wasn't the question, but I'd leave out Brailey of those 3. Might outscore the others by a little, but ceiling has come down a bit.

Thanks, cob. Yeah, Randall irritates the shit out of me but I feel like I'd be more nervous sitting Brailey out than Fifita. But surely that wouldn't pay off two weeks in a row.

Knights defence has been pretty leaky (Titans too..), but no Klem or Saifiti makes me nervous about my Knights tip. I was happy picking Brailey over Walsh last week even without the attacking stats.. until the Randall sub.. so his presence definitely concerns me this week.

Fifita bannering and averaging 65 59 in 5 games off the bench makes me nervous about leaving him out. Storm and Rabbits in the last 2, so could maybe excuse the rough scores. Also averaging 59 in his seven sub-60 min games.

Because I'm out of trades and season is nearing end I've been building up the watchlist of underpriced players for next year again (using MN of 13400 from this year)

Out of curiosity I also got Cleary & Turbo's price, going to be very interesting to see how they structure prices, total squad numbers and see how Cleary & Turbo ownership ends up from there

Do you play NRL pickem Winfield? You'd probably be good at it if not as a good tipper

Honestly seems so easy to get 4 teams & margins right but I'm still no closer to a win (share of $100k each week). Closest I got was a few weeks ago with 3 points away from Storm v Manly margin range and the other 3 games right

Haven't played, but I think Mattnz mentioned it earlier this season or last? Seemed interesting, but I feel like my brain turns to mush as stakes are raised.. or when I get unlucky, I go on serious tilt Tournament poker was my game because it's a lot easier to see the chips as a tool and going on tilt doesn't turn me into an ATM

Tipping comps don't feel much like gambling when it's $2 a week. Payouts in my local comp will be around $750, $450 and $300, but it's more the glory I'm chasing

Holy shit, mate. Really? I find the concept impossible. I joined about mid year and have played since, but haven't got within an expanded sac of the margins. Tipping winners I go okay, but so bad with the margins.

Yeah it seems easy but in reality it's bloody impossible

I do wonder if there is a catch in terms of being free to play if you win and it maybe has to be used in SportsBet. I'm never going to find out at this rate though

Yeah, I was happy leaving Fifita out last week, but that's because it was the Storm. Can see him unleashing a bit on the Knights.

The best bet might be to bypass Fifita and Brailey and just bench Ponga. If he can score what he did against the Dogs, how can you put any faith in him again this year? But man it's a tense watch if you do that to yourself. Just wish there was a clear-cut option that made sense.

Only other scenario I can think of is to actually not use my last trade, and roll out with my team as is. It'd be ridiculous to do so, but struggling to make a decision otherwise.

lol, yeah, I think I'm pretty safe to never find out. But I have also thought the same. I don't understand how the prize can be so big for a free weekly game. No doubt there'd be something going on with the Sportsbet multi bets offered at the end of each round of selections, but it's crazy to think that big money's being given out for what's technically a free stab at it.
