Blockers mate where a player stops a defending player trying to get to the kicker off the ball. You can stand there but turning your back into the defender or making contact with the defender trying to apply kick pressure is illegal play. You know very well what I’m talking about.
Not making excuses what he said to Maxwell earlier this week got leaked. Wayne just wants a fair go and we don’t get that at all last time and he’s brought attention to why Cleary has so much more time when he goes to kick. He shouldn’t have to point it out re the blockers the NRL should see that in the first place.
Cook didn’t dangerously tackle him in the air in that picture either he didn’t attack the legs or anything. I’ve seen Kikau do worse to Reyno and nothing comes of it.
Making conact with the defender trying to apply kick pressure is illegal, but you've said it yourself and as the video shows, they can legally stand their ground. There is no law against which way they face ( turning their back ?? ) are we going to the bunker to get the petractors out now ? The law regarding tackling in the air has nothing to do with attacking the legs, that's a different law entirely. I know what you're talking about, a coach like Bellamy with wrestling, Cleary with a NFL type wall play to take advantage of the rules while Bennett has his nurse change his diaper. Bennett want's "A fair go", he's being out coached. You're right he shouldn't have to point it out, he should accept the game has passed him.
