Why is everyone jumping on Merrin now when he won't be playing lock and potential to play 70+ mins is out the window?

That when he was pumping out those 20s? I don't see it with CLaw. I want to...
I wasn't watching end of season. Was he getting bugger all mins?
Reading on... I see now. It is based on 7 game run he had. Cheers. Sticking with Fergo here.
Would you stick with Fergo if he was just playing in the centres every game? Cause that could be an option.

I had a look at him because he played a few games off the bench then I saw he had a couple of single digit games from 80 mins kinda put me off

He has been one of the most talked about on the forum for a while? 55 point avg off 55 minutes, those minutes ain't getting any lower and potential for 60-65 minute gamesBren wrote:Why is everyone jumping on Merrin now when he won't be playing lock and potential to play 70+ mins is out the window?

Plus if Merrin is named to start prop then his DPP is very useful

Who you concerned will go to fullback mate? I don't see Fergo even having the option of going to centre.
Mitchell - can't see roosters throwing a rookie into fullback when already so young in halves. Second half season at best for him. Runs like a backrower even though a fullback in juniors.
Tupou - no lol
Copley - no he's ordinary centre, fullback doesn't bode well
SKD - would be surprised. might already be struggling to hold on to a wing spot when they're all firing
Burgess - no. No one goes from super league wing to NRL fullback
Not only is Ferguson the best option at fullback, I think he is the only option for now. I've seen him play well there for the Raiders

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 7
Whether we think he is the best option or not is not the issue. How he copes as a fullback under pressure from premier halves will be the deciding factor.
If guys like "drop the ball" Hunt can exploit him at the back, imagine what guys like JT etc will be able to do to him.
I think he'll start at fullback but if he can't hold his own then I would be VERY surprised if Robbo doesn't play Mitchell.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 7
Guess we'll see.
Anyways he is 100% nailed on to be named and start the season there, so if looking flakey, not the hardest down/upgrade as dual position.
I personally think will do well and last guy to play that position in that team busted out 70s. I will own Mitchell as NPR anyways so feel covered. That kid is going nowhere from my team irrespective of TLT!

Okay so I am contemplating selecting Barba in my side. If he isn't named at FB for round 1 then I'll run with either Feeney or Mitchell and have him as an NPR. Basically I am hoping that if Barba isn't named at FB for round 1 he will be named there after a couple of rounds with Bird switching to CTR. It is extremely risky but could pay off. Thoughts?

Because I asked for details of his 3x 80 scores in the first 5 games last season and Random posted them.
All around 60 min 2 off the bench and only 1 Try

I read an article where Fergy said he will play FB until Mitchell is ready for the NRL and then he can have it.
I honestly think that they would go Mitchell, just because he is new I don't think they would hold off on it.

Milch is the man and his selection of Barba hinges on him being selected in the 1 jersey.
I'm more in line with your thinking. I don't have many doubts watching the pre-season that he will be their fullback this year, so I don't mind having him now as an NPR. I don't care if he drops 20 or 30 k with cameos. I just want to make sure I save trades better this year and determined that bringing in Barba is NOT of my moves

barba wont be starting, hes playing off the bench round 1 and with jack bird most probable person to be moved to fullback i dont see why barba would go into fullback when jb has already outshined barba in the halves, im guessing he will do the same in the fullback role.
"Valentine Holmes was always long odds to snare the Sharks' fullback spot but it's now been confirmed he'll start the season on the wing, where he is a no-go for Fantasy. Jack Bird is too expensive to take a chance on in a new position and Ben Barba will be very attractive if he ever gets a starting spot but is a no-go until then. Steer clear of all three for now. Fantasy coaches were given a glimmer of hope when Bird finished the game at centre and Barba at the back."
