Hynes has an excellent short kicking game. Getting towards a must-have if he's partnered with Moylan and gets the long kicks and GK too

Difita scoring well even in a team that has no idea how to pass to him.

Nikora has probably been best on field. Not a great price though.

Fantasy scores largely irrelevant but worth a quick look at least, I’m thinking Nicho will play a way bigger role for the sharks than I originally anticipated going off what we saw tonight. I think I’m leaning towards him over Burton at this point, even more so if he’s paired with Moylan as rhino said.

Also what a fucking exhibition of footy that was!

Yep, just added him to my team. Will be Chad from last season but with an attacking game. The dual will be really handy too, especially later in the season

Especially if you try and work out what stats contributed to the listed score

Taking Nicho Hynes as someone people will be interested in

    106 run metres (10 pts), 1 try assist (5) 23 tackles with 2 missed (19) 1 kick defused (1), 1 forced drop out (2), 1 penalty (-2)

35 points from stats which score the same as last year

    then changed stats
    0 TBs,
    3 offloads (6-12 points)
    277 kick metres (13 or 9 points)
    0 6-agains

19 points under old scoring, up to 21 points by the new. Running fantasy total of 50-56

NRL match centre says 69 points.
Turnovers and escape from in-goals are not listed. Did he get 13+ points there. Its possible, 3 turnovers gets you to within a rounding error.

Will check again tomorrow morning in case it has sorted itself out by then.

Yeah, Hynes has me interested after the game....really interested. Watching him was giving me a gut feeling he's having a massive year. Trindall was ordinary so Hynes will be the main man with a lot of involvement. Should have a great base.

I was a bit worried that gains Hynes would make in kicking he'd lose in less attacking stats by moving to the Sharks.

I don't like using the all-star game to pick players for fantasy, but he's closer to being in my team now than he was 2 hours ago.

If AFifita makes the 17 for the Sharks I'll pick him over pretty much any other base price player (but that was pretty much true before the game too)

Fifita you'd think will be in every team if he makes the 17. I think though he'll only play 25-30 minutes for the same amount of points. If he makes the 17, you kind of have to start with him though. He might bring the slapsies out though.

Last year he had a heavily strapped knee and wasn't running freely. Didn't seem hindered at all in this game.

He still won't be a starter in the Sharks this year, and is no certainty for the bench

Nicely done, he had at least 1 TO tackle in the 1st quarter on Clark I think it was so theres at least 4 there. I’d have to check the replay because I’m blanking on any others (other than his attempted strip which was a penalty)

I was actually culling my watch list this morning, got to Hynes and was like “actually nah, he needs too much to go his way to be a good fantasy scorer this year” and un-added him.

    Im a pretty fickle bloke

Might have been biased because I was watching only the last 10 minutes of the game (out to dinner with family) but Difi looked very average out there. At the very least he looked 'shut down' by even a semi-organised defence.

Herbert (club team mate) was all over him, but he still clicked up the points even though his team had no idea how to get him the ball in space. The weather also took his footwork out of the game. Will be a terrifying watch as a non-owner in the early weeks.

Suppose the most impressive thing about Hynes from a fantasy perspective is he did it all behind a well beaten pack. Sharks pack will be on the front foot more games than not.

Glad to finally see some footy! Great ground for atmosphere getting in and out of though is shit took 90mins to get out of the carpark on our way home now. But footy is back baby!

Geez D. Fifita looks fitter than ever he is in for a big start to the year I think. Andrew Fifita looks a little bit fitter could be good for 25-30mins off the bench. I thought Cotter was gutsy he’s all heart if he gets good mins will score well.

I thought Hynes was the indigenous best man he was in so much and is very good for fantasy. Trindall on the other hand I thought was poor. I was sad to see Curran go down I hope he’s ok.

Hammer much of what I expected.

Tapine and JFH strong as expected and Nikora.

Now I must say get excited Brisbane fans I’m sure you know already but man Cobbo oozes class he’s gonna be very good surely only a matter of time til he gets FB for the Broncos.

And finally good to see so many Souths jersey’s out there and a strong crowd of 27k nearly also saw quite a number in Parra and Penrith jersey’s.
