Davey for Origin? Jurbo for Edge? That'll be a bit of the crap you have to filter through.

Davey isn't playing the Manly trial, don't know if he injured but the only ones not named are Walker/Harper (all stars), Crocker (minor injury), Jurbo (not sure) and Davey. Lawton is 9, Bullemor 12 and Keppie 13 in what is otherwise a full-strength side.

    Howdy Y'all,

Whilst I appreciate the excitement is building, all these exercises in predicting minutes, roles, and teams with any certainty is an exercise in futility. I'd love to see how often 'word on the [insert team name here] forum' turns out to be true this far out. Who knows which player is going to do an ACL in training, turn out to be unvaccinated, or commit some traditional NRL preseason GBH/DUI. Just relax until Rd1.

Yes, probably. You never know on here. (Though it's usually better here than on that Silvertails forum because sheesh)

You are correct of course. However, our teams aren’t set in stone. We tinker daily because we enjoy it. There is no way my current team will be the same team when Manly and Penrith kick off. The beast is ever evolving. Any info we get given is taken with a lot of grains of salt. I enjoy this time of year as you can’t make any mistakes. It’s only after lockout round 1 when it all starts going bad!

Looks like NZ misses lots of the trials being televised this weekend.

Nevermind, just checked the TV schedule and the idiots that wrote the article haven't included any of the games being shown on channel 52 in NZ

What would we talk about if we didn't talk about centres or fringe forward player's minutes.

Fwiw, I think Bellyache will have a different game plan than last year.

Hey, I gave it a shot earlier in the thread with an amusing pythagoras-and-haircuts based code/conversation starter but it didn't get much traction.

Other than that....captain choices for R1?

    I Don't Care:

I have been following the speculation at the Cowboys of who the starting LOCK will be for a while now and I am enjoying the drama personally.

Cotter has come out in an article saying that he is training only for LOCK now. One of his teammates (Dunn I think) has said the Cowboys don't really distinguish between their three MIDS. Todd Payten has been so quiet about his feelings about T'lolololololo this year after all the public slanging about how he viewed his role last year. Dunn again said that the number 13 jersey is T'lololo's no matter what position he is playing Then pretty much everyone who follows the Cowboys suggests that COTTER will play LOCK this year.

The Mayor of Alberquerque has no jurisdiction over me. I am completely relaxed with the gossip mill and false bravado of making bold predictions.

That prediction is that T'lololo will have a hissy fit and get to keep his 13 jersey but Payen will actually play him at CTR for Round 1 off the bench as a punishment for not getting vaccinated. This will infuriate those that select him who will complain to FanHub about him not receiving DPP. T'lololo will be such a revelation at CTR that he will eventually receive DPP in Round 6 and outscore Cleary this year. Those who don't pick him up early will never generate enough cash to bring in the first-ever top-scoring player available in this position. Midway through the season Rabbit 21 will write an article for his new Fantasy blog about how he had mail that this was it going to happen from the outset, he just did not want to share it. He will never reveal his source in the blog post though because that would not be gangster enough.

Despite knowing that team lists mean nothing at this stage, a few things:

1:  Tuilagi starting 2nd row for Tigers in near full strength team. Does he benefit from Blore injury? [Garner not listed].

2:  Roberts starting centre for Tigers.  Don't think I can go there again...(although Tiges being Douehiless may help??)

3:  TC Robati starting 2nd row for Broncos in full strength team.  Will he start when he returns from suspension?

4:  Flegler starting, Carrigan bench and Hetherington starting lock.  Positive signs for Hetherington?

5: Zac Cini named #14 for sharks.  Who knew...

What are the odds that Kalyn Ponga takes the GK role back at the Knights this year? He is about 5 points undervalued on a lower than average year and a few injury-affected games. If he takes back goal kicking, this is closer to 10 - 12 points undervalued.

It is not like his replacement Jake Clifford was doing that great a job (67% rate) compared to (71% for Ponga) but maybe he does not want the added pressure?

Not working for me yet says can’t do it for pre 2018 matches and when I change it to one year only still says that.
