I dont disagree, but as you said, its all on paper. Pangai vaughan dufty could easily turn out to be poor signings. Burton is untested as a full time, primary half, and they lack a quality 9 and a 6

I love pre season because you can make a case for every team to be better.

The dogs have Pangai and Hetherington ... M King is going to get some good game time after the inevitable suspensions santa

Clarkey’ Rugby League column reporting Jarrod Croker has been told he will start the season in NSW Cup. I’d say this means Schneider goal kicks.

Sami Valemei will start at centre I do not get it though like he’s even worse than Croker.

Canberra dump long-serving centre Jarrod Croker to second grade for Sharks clash.

Canberra coach Ricky Stuart has made one of the most difficult decisions of his career after informing Raiders captain Jarrod Croker that he will start the season in NSW Cup.

Stuart confirmed Croker would start the season in second grade

“Jarrod is doing a lot more than he could do at training last year after the stem cell surgery,” Stuart said.

“I am really happy that he is progressing well. At this stage we would just like to give him a bit more time.”

    Btw AFB, thoughts?

Pros: set and forget, dominant FRF in club, no origin, plays r13
Cons: bit of a wanker, not much value (maybe 2-3 points), bit of a wanker

They have so many good centers coming through, Kris, Timoko, Smith-Shields (injured).

Valemei has never looked good in first grade. Amazed they persist with him.

I love him. Strongly considering starting with him. Was rock solid at the back end of last year. Likes offloads too.

Sounds like Croker is a health/fitness thing not form, and that he'll be back in first grade if/when his body is up to it

SJ & Walsh running off his offloads = more points for AFB. Offloads & LBA. Has resigned with Warriors recently as well, so he obviously wants to be there and put best foot forward.

I liked him as a keeper option last year and not much has changed
Probably the best middle at the club and certainly the alpha(tm)
Doesn’t play origin and puts up keeper level scores in a weakish position without being top level gun
Not sure I would start with him because it’s likely at some point a similar level mid cops an injury shortened game that makes them better value

Yeah definitely this. I remember a presser last year when Payten was asked about having 3 hookers in the team, he gave the journo an absolutely filthy look and said Cotter isn't playing hooker he's playing lock. But yeah Cotter's stocks go up a notch if he's the only hooker cover.

I've got another league of latecomers to invite yet, and another half a dozen to backfill. Not quite as down as it might seem.

    Probably Lolo.

All those others have just as many question marks.

    Haas/Lolo/Bully - problem solved.
