What is the expectation for Will Smith. 30 points from the bench attainable?

Not a great selection of people left at that stage of the weekend. I think I'd either swap him to Nofo, or drop him down to Russell and upgrade Fermor to Papali'i. Don't really like either option though...

If I end up with a team that has no Sexton or Burton, I'll bring one of those in for him, although it might mean playing someone rubbish in WFB for a week.

if I have had a WFB emergency already play and get a good score, I might just leave him and take the AE

Yeah as soon as I saw teamlists, first player I looked up. Price was disappointing. But could do worse.

Been thinking about this, and basically: no.

I have nine 300k-350k players because that's where the value and cash generation looks to be (Randall, Bullemor, Penisini, Crichton, Tuilagi, Amone, Ilias, Coates, Tago - the only one I can't fit in is Nanai but can't have them all). I have two 240k players (Schneider and King, and I'm not entirely sold on King).

I know perfectly well that some of those 300-350 guys will be busts - it's also probably true that a few of of eg. Leo Thompson, Koula, Russell, Vailea, AFifita will be Johnny Trapcow, while one or two of them could be Jimmy Greatcow. The point is *that's what trades are for* - certainly your first few trades: fixing your team and getting on the moneymakers you missed when you know better than on Rnd1 TLT that their BE is low/negative and their security is good.

And here's the main point with that: *it's easier to trade down than up*. If you're stuck with TrapcowX2 it could take weeks and extra trades to fix it up to get on the moneymaking 350ks you missed, by which time they'll be the moneymaking 420ks and you might be selling players you shouldn't to fund it. If you missed the 220k Mr Greatcow, so what? Buy him and bank cash if one of your picks is faltering, and if none of them are faltering then you're in gravy anyway. There's no season-long regrets to that either way, the regrets come when you have a couple of players scoring 15 or zero each week with no bank to trade optimally to the real moneymakers, while also hindering your ability to do what you want with the rest of your team.

Damn it, I know you're right. But I don't wanna rip up my team. You can't make me!

Rather then go a replacement point wise for Cleary, I have invested wisely gone with someone that will make money and kept money in the bank. I worry that if I choose someone who is at their value, if they don't score well out of the gate, you need to make a double trade to get Cleary. Right when you are going to want to be bringing in cows you need before you miss the boat.

Will this leave me to far behind in points or is it a good strategy to save a trade and be ready to bring Cleary back in where others may find them selves without him for longer? Given the comments from his team mates about thinking he would be ready. I suspect they may be over estimating his return and he will be back sooner rather then later.  I can either launch Mann or Ilias/Schnieder for Cleary depending on games played etc.

    Randall,
    Crichton, Uto, Bulle
    Nanai, Fifita
    Schneider, Ilias
    Burton, Penis
    Pap, S.Crichton, Hynes

    Wilton, Tuilagi, Clark, Mann
    Fifita, King, Russell, T.Koula

$546 in the bank ready for Cleary to come back

Definite wait and see for me. I think that's hopeful. Would expect Clark to play at least 50, so looking a 1ppm for Smith then. I don't think he's ever shown that off the bench before.

This is the time in pre-season where everyone starts talking each other out of certain options and into a few specific ones haha

I can't see a scenario where Will Smith is relevant. He's not Peachey.

Haha I think I’ll be running with Russell in the team in 18-21 so if he’s a late out I’ll just have to hope he goes well. I’m running Grant this year as well so hoping someone steps up in his absence too

Anyone got any of them for the MID role. Already got Bullemore. Got $373k left.

I think JTB will do okay, starting? Think he'll get 45 minutes and maybe come close to nudging 40 points, probably high 30s. Priced at 30.

Thoughts on getting Grant and holding a week? Or concern over his minutes/role split with Cheese. Grant also almost 100k cheaper than Mahoney/Cook

I like Mahoney ahead of Cook just for points, but Stone/Arthur on the bench annoy me
