Gilbert only played 28 mins on edge tho. Luki came on after 28 and played out the game there.

Gilbert seemed like the main beneficiary of JTBs injury tbh.

Cotter back this week. Hard to know what their plans are moving forward.. need to see a couple more games. Plan might be to build Luki up to 80

Yeah, he's not even big for a Centre, let alone also being a Second Rower, does suggest he's got a massive set on him.

need some advice. do I go with a Josh King or a Spencer? I know Spencer has got a great PPM, but does he have a big enough motor on him to make that work. The dud has only played over 30 minutes twice in 3 years.

Look up spencer on MTBs site. Even starting he doesn’t look like the has the motor. 15 mins in on round 1 he was hands on hips

Sorry, meant he might be back this week. Id assume he just has to pass fitness tests. Payten seemed reasonably confident hed be good to go, but maybe they give him another week

Yeah I will give him a week to have a look at. Might just stick with Josh King.

Surprisingly little talk about Curran. Big $ but capable of big scores. 72 without a try is good going. Most of the guys being talked about seem to have scored tries last week. Katoa, Tago, Martin etc etc.

My #1 concern is Clark. Without his try he scores 33 which doesn’t cut it. Was hoping for 60 minutes and he didn’t quite get that. Just not sure I want to dump my hooker cover.

I think you're both right. All indications preseason were that Gilbert was training left edge. Then in the trial Nanai is sick so we don't know. Then Luki and Nanai named so Gilbert a no go. Then last game of the round it changes again. Seems like Coach bench wankery. To answer Honey Badger, I don't have any inside knowledge but Cowbys fans do indeed rate Gilbert, and yeah slow start last year with broken leg, had a pretty ordinary season. Was hyped, 2019 Qcup rookie of the year and lock of the year etc.

But I think MTB is right about the JTB injury. It *looks* like the plan was Gilbert edge for 20-25 minutes, Luki comes on and pushes him to the middle where he plays for about 40 minutes, then comes off for one of the starting middles. If that's true, 20 minutes edge, 40 minutes middle makes him tempting but not must have yet. Considering him over Mann. I would then have Lolo, Nanai, Gilbert, and JTB which seems very silly. Cotter makes it murkier still.

As MS says, he's deceptively strong. Murray Tualagi is another one like that I reckon.

I am nervous brining in Nanai this week. The JTB injury throughout whatever plan I had to 'have a cheeky round 1 look'. I just don't know how big Luki fits into it. Everyone cheering about Nanai and Gilbert but one of those is surely going to take a hit in minutes from round one starting this weekend.

Did anyone watch the game and see how he went?

Really wanted Yeo, but don't want to trade for the sake of getting him. Lolo, in my opinion, just isn't getting the minutes nor intensity in his runs to justify keeping him in my team and watching the cash drain away. Settled on Arrow, although I'm wary of his output last year.
Hoping the new set-up and forward rotation will mean he is the big minute Edge for the Bunnies.
I'll keep Fermor for another week to see if the Titans attack (not giving him much ball, using him as a decoy runner) will change.

If fermor can’t do anything this week he’s on the chopping board for me, really rated him preseason, but there seems to be much more consistent edge options

Have a sneaky feeling he’ll go ok this week!

The rotations are still somewhat unclear, but Nanai looks set for big minutes on the edge and a real goer. Poked his nose through the line nearly every time, which surprised me, because he's not that big. I can see him making line breaks. $382k somewhat awkward if you don't have him, but I would still buy.

I'm not convinced on Lolo either, but "watching the cash drain away" is hyperbole. He lost 1k.
