There were doubts about our glorious half back even playing this week, so perhaps tthey are right.

    From the herald

Luke Brooks missed training for Wests Tigers because of a leg injury he suffered late against the Storm, but will return to training on Thursday and play against the Knights on Sunday. Ken Maumalo (hamstring) failed to finish training on Tuesday, but is also expected to play.

For no reason at all I looked at Coates stats.

His highest ever scores are 60 and 61 which he needed a double to get to. Somehow he's managed a 41 and a 52 without a try but otherwise he needs to cross the line to get anything resembling a decent score.

Addo Carr got 6 tries past the Bunnies last year though so hopefully more of the same tonight.

Well as long as he can slot penalties from directly in front and pretty much nothing else, then that's no hit to the GK for the Tigers.

AFL coaches take paranoia to a whole new level which could be as a result of increased media scrutiny they are under.

The game as a whole, particularly commentary on it, seems to be some way behind league in terms of on field player welfare (e.g. concussions) and the 'hard man' front a lot of coaches, commentators and ex players try to publically portray. Despite the running gag with both union and AFL that League is a backward bogan sport, the NRL administration is a lot more proactive with pushing through change and resisting the old 'games gone soft' protestations.

Beverage lost his shit about a leaked team change....it was nothing and had no impact on the game or result. It was great to see him bring mental welfare in to it while berating someone with personal sledges on national TV  Very Happy . He got outplayed and acted like a petulant child.

Tom Morris works for Fox so you can take it for granted that he's a wanker

When Aussie rules people call league a bogan, backwards sport - where do they think all the equivalent lads in Vic, SA, WA and Tas go? They're the only game in town!

I'll take it from the rugby toffs but it's a bit rich from the kick-clappers.

Re: player welfare/concussions, the expert AFL uses to guide their policies - who has pretty consistently downplayed long-term concussion impacts - was exposed as a plagiarist last week.

When I first moved to WA the most common phrase was calling Leaguies ‘bum sniffers’. Then Hopoate did the Hopate and it was a nightmare.

Then the Pirates decided to, well just decided to call themselves the Pirates ffs. Like, then the Ass Pirates comments started up!

I lived in Perth for work for about three months around 2000…..it’s got a ‘unique’ vibe

I probably used to watch more AFL than league but the whole booing Adam Goodes (because he’s a dirty player….honest) really sorted my priorities out

I personally have always seen right through it, I literally find any person who vocally says the cliched comments around bogan sport/dumb game etc, are themselves in a whole world of their own in terms of having or displaying foul or low intellect traits, and ignorance, like "yeah it's what I heard from my buddy or the papers, but I actually haven't experienced anything like it at all"

But seriously, should I hold Hastings, don't be hasty and all. A wfb is needed though.

Getting Sexton gives me 7 eligible HLFs players, kinda makes Amone surplus.

Yeah deckchairs on the Titanic at that hey.

I could play Smith and be right for the week in the centres

But a wfb is needed or I play a man down. Russell plus 170k to anyone is possible.

I am fan of Timoko. I am not sure whether it s a good call to bring him now. if he goes big and consistent for a few weeks, he will be super hard to justify to bring in. I expect him to stay in my team all year

I'm almost certain the LB of now is not the same person as the LB of old. Some significant event has revealed the LB before us in recent times, I'm certain !

Considering he's up against Taane Milne, one of the slowest wingers in the comp, I think he's likely for at least one try, if not two or three if Munster keeps kicking early for him. Doesn't help that Latrell is a bit slow turning around due to his size.

Think I would move on Hastings
Doesn’t have the role needed (low kick metres) in a team that will probably be at the bottom end of the ladder
I rate him as a player and think most of tigers attack will involve him but could be the guy that creates an overlap for someone else before the try assist goes elsewhere
