I can risk a loop using Koula but that still leaves a choice between Nanai and Big Leo?

Is Watto Watson? If so the first 3 are no brainer and you put Koula 4th to choose Leo or loop Nanai. If Watson out then the 4 pick themselves I guess

Something else the Talking League POD brought up was not only is Tualagi at risk of Madge playing silly buggers but also:
    - Garner didn't actually lose his spot to him
    - Tualagi is changing clubs next year, so why would the Tigers waste time developing a rookie for another club

I don't see a bright future for him, Tualagi > Starling for my first trade this year

RE Starling, is the expectation that he will play 80 min regularly, or is Frawley expected to get some time at HOK?

But is Sue a better footballer than Thompson? I guess experience is key but at what point does a young promising fwd replace a journeyman like Sue

I would be buying Starling not expecting 80mins regularly but bonus if is the case

I don't entirely get the leaving next year "narrative". Clubs need to win now, not next year. If Tuilagi is a better option to deliver wins now than Garner, he gets the spot (whether he is or not, idk). I could kind of see a little bit of logic if it was Tuilagi vs another young prospect, buy Garner isn't going to get more "developed" than he already is. As if Madge is going to be there next year anyway.

I don't think clubs care where a player is signed for next year until they are out of finals contention. If Tuilagi gives Tigers the best chance of winning next week he will be starting regardless of where he is signed

I do agree although I think it does mean they are less likely to persist with him if he has a couple of bad games, whereas if he is signed to stay for the next few years they may accept some bad games during development knowing it is better for the longer term. If he is a better player than Garner then I don't think it has any impact

Garner has had more than enough chances.  He's had some decent games, but a lot of shockers too.  Madge wants to keep his job and he wouldn't care who is going where next year.

TU: Mahoney Russell to Starling Thomas  gives 320k bank for clear and gets rid of a red dot.

TD: Tualigi Bullemore to Startling Thomas. No cash in the bank  to get Cleary but keep Mahoney

Also, whilst it only became official recently, it was known Tuilagi was going to Manly for ages, and he made the round 1 and 2 teams with this knowledge.

Next years edges will be iPapali'i and allegedly one of Nikora/Nanai and its not like we can start gibing them the game time now, so may as well play the best we have.

I would prefer Starling to Clark and can do it for 9k, but it feels sideways. It think Clark has almost peaked sadly, but unsure how much coin there is for Starling to make.

Trying to figure out my path to Cleary and the lack of good mid options make it tricky.

Ideally would downgrade Lolo and then go iPap to Cleary next week but I'd need to replace Lolo with a ~$400k playable mid and options are slim. JKing the obvious but with Smith back in reserves already not sure I'm a fan. Maybe I need to join the mad lads on Mad Jack Shocked

Anyone thinking of using Koula as a looper, beware, Manly play the last game of the round and Dylan Wanker had a bit of a niggle last game.
If he’s out, Koula is likely to take the vacant bench spot.

I'm currently making that trade. Clark has been a plodder as expected, I think Starling can average 8-10pts more than him for basically the same price
