He is likely to keep it until Tohu returns (you'd think), but be aware that he played 73 mins in R1, then 64mins in R2.
He's unlikely to be an 80min edge week-in week-out.
As a Katoa owner it was a roll the dice decision to start with him at $426k. There's no way I'd spend $486k and a trade to get him (just my 2c)

As it turns out, Hynes was the most popular VC option this week (and the 3rd most popular captain, even more than Cleary)
Wonder how many Hynes VCers captained Cleary?

I can’t wait to get Cleary and not have to worry about captaincy each week.
Tossed up Hynes and Dfifi all week, saw the rain and flicked back to Dfifi. Yuck.
Cleary in as soon as he’s available.

I started with Katoa, reasonably happy with what i've seen, not sure he's a trade in. Not even sure how long I'll hold him, just at that awkward price.
He seems to start games slowly and then work into the grind, makes a bunch more tackles after about the 30 min mark.
He really needs some attacking stats to be worthwhile. I'm not sure they will come. SJ out doesn't help as we saw in that first game for Katoa's try. His base so far is good, 30+ tackles and 100+ metres in both games.
RE the second game, they were playing in crazy heat. Lodge couldnt return after 20 mins meaning they were a middle forward down. I actually think it was good rotation by the coach to take Katoa off for a breather, put Siro to the edge, and then bring Katoa back on in the middle. It helped make up for the lack of Lodge. I would think its not a regular thing, but there is always the likelyhood he plays less than 80 mins as a norm.

No Sexton captainers in that list. I’m going alone on this journey

Hynes VC indicates active player, Cleary C indicates inactive player. The crossover of active players is going to be close to 0.Milchcow wrote:As it turns out, Hynes was the most popular VC option this week (and the 3rd most popular captain, even more than Cleary)

Re: NRL Fantasy 2022 Part 17 is the new 50
For obvious reasons I would have liked to have captained Hynes, but I don't like making last minute switches.
I'm feeling good about Haas this week. Carrigan took that knock to the knee at training, he may be a late withdrawal. If he plays, he may get less mins than usual. Should be a big lean on Haas by the coach this game, the derby is obviously a huge game for the club every year. Huge crowd will be in for it. A strong win really sets up the season. I feel he will be absolutely pumped for it and might just storm over for a try.

As a non Haas owner, I'm hoping the opposite of what you're hoping for. Lol

Thoughts on Hess if he can manage 50+ minutes at prop? Averages 44 there in that timeframe, small sample size though.
Too many MIDs on the bench?

If you play NRL Supercoach or dreamteam, there is a VC loophole that works similarly to AFL.
Here at NRL Fantasy we have a more flexible loophole that can be used on anyone except the C and VC
Check out this thread for how to exploit it

You can still loophole in Dreamteam and Supercoach as I provisionally did last night. The problem with loopholing this early in the season is that you still have your Iiiias and Amone’s hanging around so it is often not worth it.Squid wrote:Ah thanks for response i come from afl fantasy where loop hole is a must haha, Oh well lets get on the Payne Train for 90+!

I would like to keep Tuilagi but he's the only viable downgrade to trade Sam Walker (averaging 29.5) to Sexton (averaging 53.0) so my trades are:
Tuilagi out - Leo T. in
S. Walker out - Sexton in
Mahoney
Haas (c), Arrow, Bullemor
D. Fifita, Fermor
Sexton, Schneider
Tago, Penisini
Hynes (vc), Pappy, S. Crichton
Randall, Mann, M. King, Nanai
Leo T., Ilias, B. Smith, Vailea
Thoughts & thanks.

How do these trades sound?
Bullemore > Leo
Billy > Tago
Seems to be the best two moneymakers going at the moment.

I had the same thought, and the same issue. Would leave me with Lolo/Ming/Jing starting and Leo EMG.
I have traded Crichton though, currently to Starling to build a Cleary bank, but thinking he might become Curran instead as I’m pretty happy with how Hynes is looking as a captaincy option (so won’t need the bank).

This article is one thing putting me off Curran:
Though not sure it’s enough to stop me getting him over Yeo.
