Can't wait for Panfers to pull the ultimate April Fools and send out Ivan Cleary in the 7, instead of Nathan.

Good luck today all!
C Fifita stings for me but I have copped it on the chin I took a risk it badly failed.

Thanks, that eases the pressure a lot. Trade numbers were looking a bit light.

After Fifita and Sexton I have jumped 2,979 ranks overnight. Keen to see where that ends up after 7 playing tonight (8 with Leo in reserves).

Yeah I've cranked 5 trades so far. Feeling like I've muffed the start at about rank 6800 atm.

the strategy around it will be interesting, I'm thinking going ham on trades to build your final 18 by round 17/18, hang tight for a couple weeks then you've got another 4 for sideways trades/marginal upgrades/injuries to get you home in the last 5 weeks which should be ample. Probably simplifies it a bit actually

It's not the score you wanted but hes the first of the captain options to play and at least you didn't choose Sexton.
Cleary and Hynes could still score 40s or even lower.

I think if you hold trades in this early part of the season, there's bound to be lots of great trades you can make when 4 trades become available in every round from Round 13 onwards. I'm happy to hold trades and sacrifice some rankings early in the season to try to take advantage of that period. I reckon there'll be a lot of people out of trades or very close to it by, say, round 15 or 16 desperately waiting for those extra Round 20 trades.
My feeling is that most here are a little too trade happy early on and will come to regret it by the end of the season. When you pay close attention to Fantasy, you can always find justification for a couple of trades every round if you really wanted to, but we all seem to quickly forget how desperate we are for them come the business end of the season. That said, I've probably missed the boat on a couple of guys that make sense to have with my approach (e.g. JKing), but we'll see...

I've banked 4, used 2. Didn't use any for Rd 2 or R3, but had to get rid of Bullemor and Uto this week.mattnz wrote:

It seems that as of end of round 3, there were 7 players that were must have to be ranked in top 2,000 at the start of the season.
PLAYER NAME COUNT
1. Chris Randall 1999
2. Nicholas Hynes 1997
3. Brad Schneider 1986
4. Max King 1970
5. Payne Haas 1958
6. Izack Tago 1939
7. Stephen Crichton 1934
After that number 8 on the list is Papy at 1788, so falls off steeply.

You can pretty much gauge how your season is going by how many of them are in your team. I have 5 of them, with rank 11k after round 3, (missing Haas and Tago).

Have we heard anything more about Tuilagi's injury?
Also - NRL physio points out iso for Fermor would end next Thursday (7 days) and Titans play Saturday.
Won't train with the team all week til captains run if he's even named.

I remember back on Sportal a couple of years in a row you had some rough ranks and would go quiet for a while and I missed you. You would come back after a few months and say your absence was due to not being able to watch the games because your TV had broken...again...Now we deadset can’t for the life of us get rid of you
Publishing your FootyStats page was the single most important event ever in the wider Fantasy Community in my personal opinion. You did in a couple of days for free what a team of purpose selected paid “professionals” couldn’t achieve in an entire off season.
You have also had an incredibly rare run of fantastic rankings, and that tentatively suggests you may even know what the fuck you are actually doing! Well done MTB, and thankyou.
Ha! i think you might remember my sportal days better than i do
Might be the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me. appreciate the kind words from everyone!
That said, it is fast approaching shitposting o'clock, so that will need to be it for the niceties around here.

Getting a bit mainstream these days Matt
Personally I started with all 7 and am on the outer end of that top 2k but that makes sense that it's a pretty standard core where 5+ would be in majority of serious teams. Your performance gets defined on the other 14 blokes in the squad + captain choice + bench selection I guess

I'm ranked 16k and own all seven of them, and started with six of them (all bar Hynes who I bought last week for Fifita)
