Good to see that I'm not the only one whose team's performance is similar to that of this round's Thursday night game.

Yeah he's back to fantasy gun status... him and Murray look good. I wouldn't mind having either of them in my team.Khany wrote:The departure of Clint has definitely improved Cooks runni g game

Taylan May in this form will be pushed to the other wing when To'o is back, unreal eye for the line and work effort.

Have to wait game to game now. Pretty much have to wait for after big score next few games
I’m going to get him in before the next big score
I’ll still get him next week if someone like Koula or similarly cheap emerges and makes it easy to do in 2 trades. Still think he’s going to be the best scorer and captain.

Fitz named Talakai as his man of the match. Has to be locked in for CTR for the foreseeable future. Really tempted to grab him this week. Would get CTR designation in a couple of weeks.
Was up against the form CTR in the comp in Gagai, who had 7 missed tackles.

He looked solid last night, better than last week. I was impressed by his defensive efforts

Lol that's Butter's site who insisted Cleary BE was 67
Oh so that site is this Butters fella ive never heard of but now everyone won’t stop talking about?
Yeah that makes no sense - back of envelope it’s high 70s yeah?
Site does have good reserve grade stats though.

I only started with Fifita of those 3, but I think even people who started without him have been surprised at how much he has dropped off this year
I was expecting a drop off from Fifita but didn’t think it would be this quick
Nearly trade in territory for me

My captain Cleary strategy didn't pay off, but it was worth a shot. He didn't look too bad out there, got close to a couple big plays. I'm happy he's in my team.

If Murray plays 80 minutes every week he will go the way of Foran before he turns 30. Absolutely no regard for his own body so the coach has to save him from himself. Give him the big minutes in important games then let’s the plodders soak up the middle against lower tier opposition

8/405C for me, Hynes C is disappointing but with Cleary and Fifita scoring a point either side of him, it's not so bad.
Clifford is 100% being sold next week to get Cleary. It was almost the perfect scenario for me in terms of Cleary, he didn't score that many fantasy points but looked like he's healthy. Don't forget that in 2020, his first game back from the TikTok suspension he only scored 35, and then backed that up with 81 and 91.

Other low scores were Tigers (59), Sea Eagles (61), Dragins (74), Eels (82)
Similarly no obvious pattern for large scores.
In conclusion every time someone mentions good/bad draw, “player x will go huge/struggle against oppo y”, I die a little inside. I think it basically one of the least useful things to worry about in rugby league fantasy.
Agree. I think a slightly better predictor would be derby games like Easts/Bunnies, Cows/Broncos. Or milestone games like Joh Bloggs' 200th. 50% of the time, it works every time.

Nothing from that game suggests to me he won’t be the best captain choice once again. Will be coming into my team as soon as I don’t have a fire to put out

I agree. Definitely back to it and the price drop is the reward for patience. I have pappy that I think will become him as I can move Crichton to wfh and burton to centr

Just watching the post match interview with Madge. He was really happy with the performance. Worried he is a bit delusional.

Yeah he could be under 700k in 2 weeks.
He scoring 40s doing nothing in games. Eventually he’ll do something and get 60s/70s. Sometime he’ll do something a couple of times in the same match and go bigger. I’d gamble on the variance swinging that way a few times in 2022.

I'd rather downgrade him to Talakai, who looks like last year's Fifita and should get CTR designation in a couple of weeks.

This week Butters has put his new website in a three way breakeven calculating race against “The guys at footystatistics” (not sure he doesnt realise its just MTB coding in his underwear whilst he eats shredded cheese from a bag) and the official app, to prove theirs are more accurate.
The sad thing about Butters is that there are few people as passionate about fantasy football- he’s constantly making group spaces and apps, and trying to raise money for charity- all good things! But just like in life, sometimes a good product is let down by terrible marketing and Butters himself happens to be an obnoxious wet blanket. Always gives matter-of-fact advice from a high horse (probably now made worse by the fact that he posts under “Rugby League Fantasy Pro” these days) and wants everyone to drink some coolaid on him being a Fantasy Guru despite ranking poorly every year. Mostly though, the Fantasy Gods just seem to hate the guy. He didn’t have to make a special post to show off his team and defend Sexton as his captain this week, but he did and so he will (undeservedly? Im really not sure) cop it for that move all year now, when before that game I had actually considered it myself and it wasn’t such a far out there play.
Tl;dr-
Butters: a tragic protagonist undeserving of both your admiration and scorn.
