Held Burton since round 1 and stuffed up my loop so played Ilias outright.

Thinking about bringing in Angus Crichton today but just noticed the Roosters draw coming up.
After the Titans today, they play;
Par, Pen, Cro, Can, Mlb, Par and Pen.
Have a few hours to think about it but that's a tough draw with Origin in the mix as well.

Is healthy for the Nrl competition to have the top sides getting beaten.

NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo has indicated an 18th team would likely come from New Zealand, with the code needing to source new talent, evidenced by the Dolphins drawing players from a shallow talent pool.
“There’s no doubt New Zealand is an enormous market for us,” he said. “Some of our best players in recent years have come from New Zealand and we’re certainly committed to investing in the region and seeing more talent unlocked and emerge through pathways systems. New Zealand is a critical component of our competition.

Looks like Seyfarth is a no go;
Confirmation of a minor hamstring strain for Luciano Leilua, is expected to miss just 1-2 weeks. Usually would struggle to return in the 2 week timeframe but with the Tigers playing Sunday night in Round 10 it gives him a shot

Having another NZ team would be great in theory but I personally believe it is too early to consider a second NZ team yet, especially since our first one is still a basket case.

Sure Warriors haven't won anything, but their following is huge. One of the most popular clubs in the game as well as one of the most financiall secure (Based on an article I read when the new owners came in).
Just need the results to come on the field.
There probably is enough talent here in NZ for a second NRL team, the hard bit will be trying to lure over any Australians to a brand new club.

I've held ranks (16,500) this week so far with 369 points. Likely because of Burton (POD) going huge. Have you had any PODs?Liverpool_Bulldog wrote:

Also your rank drops could be some teams with just Panthers players, or just Eels players (those fun teams) jumping ahead temporarily as well. I'm sure you'll come back hard with 9 yet to play.

Firstly, a NZ derby would be awesome. North vs South island? Would be a mini origin.
Secondly, another team would inspire more youngsters to pick up the game, and give more hope to developing players for a NRL debut.
Thirdly, NZ infrastructure already exists (rugby), so it wouldn't cost all that much to get the ball rolling (pardon the pun).
I don't hate it, and would personally like the game to be more involved in NZ. At this point Australia and New Zealand are brothers and we should be embracing one another more and more. Love the idea of the game being bigger over there.

I think it's largely irrelevant how the Warriors have been run over their history.
It's a bit like comparing the Auckland Blues over the last twenty years vs the Canterbury Crusaders. If anything the Blues have had a bigger pool for success, but so often it comes down to the back office and club culture.
A Christchurch based team would be amazing and I think could offer some lifestyle in a similar way that the Cowboys can (albeit cold winters). I wouldn't be in a rush to do it too quickly after the Dolphins, but the talent pool would grow in time.
I think it would really benefit the international game too

I barely look at mid round rank. It's irrelevant. My 7 scores with Ilias not added is below par for players played

Oh shoot I’ve added Ilias to my number which obviously isn’t reflected yet. I just do it in my head because why not.
That might be the reason. Yeah have had Burton go well so will see how it washes up after Sunday

When Burton is on, like he was last night, he is a fantasy gun. But is it a once in a blue moon performance or is he going to have a run of form?

I personally find it hard to believe we could maintain an NRL team here. We struggle to fill out a shitty little stadium for the Crusaders who are one of the most successful teams of any sport. Unless a Christchurch NRL team can have Storm like success off the bat, I find it hard to see us maintaining enough of a fanbase who would turn up to games week in and week out if the team isn't going well.
The NRL is very much a TV sport in New Zealand. Unlike Union, you will find very few people who have actually played the game or have actually physically gone and watched a local game of league.
I would LOVE a NRL team here, LOVE it. But I trying to look at it realistically.
