    I'm interested in seeing if I broke Hastings or not today. You'd have to assume most in the top 1000-2000 has picked him up now, surely.

    I personally find it hard to believe we could maintain an NRL team here. We struggle to fill out a shitty little stadium for the Crusaders who are one of the most successful teams of any sport. Unless a Christchurch NRL team can have Storm like success off the bat, I find it hard to see us maintaining enough of a fanbase who would turn up to games week in and week out if the team isn't going well.

    The NRL is very much a TV sport in New Zealand. Unlike Union, you will find very few people who have actually played the game or have actually physically gone and watched a local game of league.

    I would LOVE a NRL team here, LOVE it. But I trying to look at it realistically.

    I can't argue with you, you're probably right.
    Wellington generally has okay support, but it's not a great place to live, can't imagine a team being managed well there and probably a tough place to attract players or generate enough talent.

    Christchurch would probably need the covered stadium and $5 tickets...

    After the Titans today, they play;
    Par, Pen, Cro, Can, Mlb, Par and Pen.
    Have a few hours to think about it but that's a tough draw with Origin in the mix as well.

    Might grab Angus myself today PB, have the same reservations but he should make some coin at least.

    I grabbed cotter this week. Should at the very least be nice synergy with Lolo no? Can't see them both having low minutes a week.

    I agree league in nz is not a popular sport...rugby, soccer, netball are more popular & the problem is any young talent is guided towards rugby not league. All the clubs in auckland are struggling for numbers & my club for example the glenora bears only has 2 junior teams from under 15's to under 21's in fact there are more girls junior teams than boys.

    An irony being, when the 2011 quake wrecked the Crusaders' stadium, they moved into their current home, which is called Rugby League Park - obviously granting sponsors naming rights mean that name is never used by Super Rugby.

    I agree with you though. A second team in NZ would be a tough stretch. I'd like to see to the NRL allow the Warriors to play all their away games in cities and towns around NZ in 2023. Then you might be able to gauge the appetite for NRL outside Auckland a little more. One-off games might not be enough though. Are enough people going to turn up to 12 NRL home games for a second NZ team? Probably not.

    high likelihood for origin I think. Got him thinking round 13 points would be a bonus. Love the cut of his jib as well, and the DPP HOK/MID is so handy. Gunna whack him at 14 for the rest of the season I think.

    My best trades have been Talakai and Carrigan, both after drinking.

    I just realised something. Matt must be drunk all the time.
