yeah true that. avg 36 now is fine if you played him every week. Not far off SCrichton

Agree with rhinoceroo, the biggest regret I have from pre-season team set-up is choosing D.Fifita over Haas (I grabbed I.Pap so he could have slotted in as premium Edge). This cost me many points and a safe as houses captain pick for the first 4 rounds.rhinoceroo wrote:
Not sure there have been any terminal mass-forum decisions this year...
There's no doubt that starting with Moses would have better than starting with Sexton for a lot of people, but Sexton was far from a universal pick. (Moses, at around the same price, was a bit of an oversight in pre-season discussions though).
Billy Smith was a sensible pick pre-season. Again, not everyone went for him, but those that did could either correct early or have a handy looping dot.
Tass looks like a bad buy. Talakai straight after his tonne had plenty of warning signs but still could be a centre keeper - just that money could have better placed elsewhere. Think he was probably more popular off the forum than on it too.
Stefano was a popular guy preseason who didn't do what we expected, but hardly a terminal pick.
Big problem for many has been overtrading and jumping off eg. Tolo or Burton or even Ted (or even Hynes) too soon, but again not unique to this forum, except the last part.
Think the main key for starting sides might have been the four $750-$800k forwards at the start of the season (Haas, Cook, Angus, Difita) where most people could afford two of them and the people who started with Haas and Cook (or Murray or Grant) would have a serious leg up.

The titans will go on a run towards the end of the year when their season is mathematically alive, but realistically gone. Fifita will score a bunch of 80s against teams who've given up, or teams that are coasting and get caught out. Matt will wax lyrical in February about how this superstar is ready to live up to his potential and people won't be able to resist, only for him to do the same thing he did to start this year, and the Titans will still be shit.

However, I don't blame the chat/analysis here in the forum, I made an educated guess that Fifita would blitz it from the start. No one could have predicted that Holbrook (or his spine) would shit the bed so spectacularly and negate Fifita's running/TB/tries game.

If Fifita finishes the year like he started, I'll certainly be tempted again next year to get him in as a cheaper guy with the potential to go massive.

haha. More about the Lemmings on here following each other over the cliff with bad ideas.
last year = Cini among others
this year (so far) Tass, Billy Smith, Sexton & Fifita
I'm a grudge holder, so won't pick him up even if he kills it. interested to see how many start iPap next year in the tigers system. Will be a wait and see for me.my tv broke wrote:spoiler alert, it'll be groundhog day to start 2023 with David Fifita.
