How's this for an (very left field) alternative to Savage/Averillo cash out?;
Drew Hutchison $280k HLF/HOK
- Averaging 19.4 from 29.9 minutes
- Has played every game for the Roosters this year (so some level of JS)
- Starting Hooker on 8 occasions - for only 19.5 points in 30 minutes.
Here's the roll-the-dice upside;
- Not a repurposed Wing/Centre that could lose the lucrative fullback spot at any moment.
- Marginally more useful DPP? - potentially better for cover (when key HLF/HOK get rested)
- Should normally be good for a 20, less likely to give you a single-digit score when you're in a bind
- Played 49 minutes last week - if you're lucky it's the start of a new pattern?
- IF in the unlikely event Keary/Walker were ruled out (injury), he should be first in line to play 5/8
- In 2021 (VLBall) he averaged a huge 55.4 in fourteen 80 minute games at 5/8 (with only 3 tries amongst that) - including three 70 pointers and a 92.
It would be a big gamble, but it wouldn't surprise me if Savage & Averillo turn out to be equally big gambles.

Strong feeling the 49 mins last week is anomaly not start of new pattern. Been waiting all season for something to change, injury etc to make him cheap pickup but nothing has. He might get good score this bye round. Last week 35 in 49 had 11pts from TA TBA and OFH which not common stats for him this season.
Hard pass for me just as much as the other 2

I definitely agree.
But one thing I will say is that I think coach Robinson holds him in high regard and is actively looking to use him - that's never a bad thing
Under ordinary circumstance he probably has a higher floor, lower ceiling than Savage/Averillo
If the unpredictable happens (i.e. Savage & Averillo get the FLB for the rest of the year, somehow a vacancy occurs in the halves for Hutch) then he probably is the biggest jackpot.
