All that my Fantasy poisoned brain could think about is what a monster score she would've got for that. KD + EFIG + TB + LB + 100m + try. Would've regretted not having the C on her!

    Tomorrow international predictions

Samoa thrash Cook Is - everyone has been hyped for Tonga, but Samoa getting no respect. Traditionally have been better than Tonga at RL, had some pretty good 4 Nations results 10ish years ago, and arguably have a better spine than Tonga right now.

Fiji beat PNG - based on a theory that having more NRL players in your team is good

NZL beat Tonga - Think it’ll be close but NZ win the decisive moments as too much class in the spine, forward packs look pretty even. I think Tonga might be closer to Eng/Samoa than NZ/Aus now.

Kick returns don't generate a line break, I can just imagine the complaints on the forum now about her being robbed of points.

Do EFIGs get awarded often? Or are they hit and miss?

    Lmao pretty much.

I definitely think Fantasy should add in a few more stats though:

    * Kick and regather breaks (SC has this, worth 8 points compared to a standard LB worth 10) - I would make these worth 4 or 5 points while upping a LB from 4 to 6 points

    * A bonus for 2 point field goals (make standard field goals 4 points and 2 pointers worth 6)

    * Increasing goals from 2 to 3 points but having missed goals be -1 to compensate (SC has goals worth 4 points and missed goals -2)

If we want some rep round shitposting. My controversial opinion is that w should have less stats in Fantasy, not more.

For a start, drop tackles down to 1 point for every 2 tackles (or even less). You can then reduce most other stats across the board as well.
There is no need to try and come up with a stat to reward every single thing that happens on the football field. Stats at the moment are too influenced by a couple of big stats. Make more than 1 offload to hand in a game and you've for a great score, almost regardless of anything else that happens.

Having lower scores in general means it would be less punishing if your player gets injured in the 3rd minute.

I actually think they need to introduce a lot more scoring stats for the sole reason of forum entertainment.
It would be great fun to track the exploding heads during a game as posters tried to watch the game, cross check against the stats and post outraged comments on the forum all while composing an email to nrl headquarters decrying why Teddy was only credited with a 'half moon' (2 points) in the 16th minute when clearly both cheeks were on display!

4pt offload to hand is silly but (outside of a couple of players) theyre random enough that its 'swings and roundabouts' imo.

Tbh if people didnt complain about it here id not have given it mich thought. Im reasonably jaded already i guess.

Maybe im just annoyed that every change means more code changes for me lol

Tackles, metres, tries, goals, dropgoals, try assists, penalties, errors, sinbins and send offs. Get rid of the rest.

    Here's my unpopular opinion:

The tribalism driven by the media/NRL itself is bad for the growth of the game.
There are too many people who support their team over the sport sometimes to the point where they couldn't care less about the health of the code.

There are people who would rather see the NRL fold and watch Souths vs Easts in NSW cup than a flourishing competition without their own team.

Wild Card....you can have 1 player/person/animal not included on your top 30 list take the field in each game

    Free Hit......kind of self explanatory

It’s funny that the tribalism in AFL is much stronger, and yet they managed to relocate a team to Sydney and force another to merge (get taken over) by Brisbane and the sky didn’t fall in.

What I’m saying is, NRL clearly need to fuck off Cronulla to Perth

Biggest issue in the nrl is the game is driven by the short term desires of the media

Its actually kind of embarrassing that the end result of years of expansion talk is a team in REDCLIFFE
