I started the year with him and was disappointed.  Watching him closely then and again the last few weeks and you can definitely see a shift in him over the last couple of weeks compared to the start of the year.  He seems o'n' more than ever.  I didn't check scores even after 25 odd minutes last week and thought he might have been on around 18-20 points, but checked and he was on fucking 30!  I'm getting him in.

Think it was rabs who said Melbourne will have a specific plan to negate him this week which does absolutely scare me cos bellamy can definitely attack his deficiencies and niggle him, but his contributions with the ball are so devastating and points scoring, tb, offloads, lba and Ta, plus goal kicking,

Storm haven't executed a lot well the last few weeks though to be fair.

Gotta disagree with you on Mitchell, sure he won’t get 98, but south’s are cooking, they need every win and he seems to have the bit between his teeth having missed a lot of crucial footy for them, I’m expecting him to have a big impact in every game - lots of points coming his way

I own Latrell and hope he goes ballistic, but I do think talk of him being this year's Turbo is a touch premature.

Let's not forget, he did it against the Dogs. They've improved a bit recently, but they're still the Dogs.

Run home isn't easy either: Melbourne, Sharks, Warriors, Eels, Penrith, Cowboys, Roosters.

He could smash it anyway, but it's not a fait accompli. I'd still be a touch scared if I was buying now that it's a Talakai situation and I've missed the ceiling games.

I think where I stand is: I'd probably rather own him than not, but he's not a must have.

Lone Scout Q&A likes Cam Murray for captain this week. Also big ups to Cook, Hynes edging it over Cleary, and no DCE mention.

Also suggests the other titans Fifita as a WFB if you're brave because he scored 50 on debut, so is fairly cooked.

For the record in no way do I expect a turbo situation- this years rule change has seen to that - just think latrell is easily 2nd or 3rd best wfb option above, drinky, Garrick etc

You can't compare Talakai and Latrell. Latrell has the pedigree and runs on the board. Talakai was a flash in the pan.

I think I'm pretty settled on:
    King > Cook
    Papy > Doueihi
    RFM > Fifita

Leaving me with 1+4 trades, 129k, and the following:

    Cook
    Crichton Lolo Elliott
    IPap Fifita
    Cleary DCE
    Burton Tago
    Teddy Hynes Doueihi

    Robson Moses Tohu Barnett
    Koula Palasia Matamua Kennedy

Hoping that's enough to push into the top 100 over the final weeks.

For teams at the top I'd prioritise getting Cook, Cleary, DCE, Hynes in. Biggest scorers and biggest upgrade in points over the next best in that position. Murray would be in the "nice to have" category.

This had me thinking about getting Cook instead of Cleary,  as Cook is a bigger positional upgrade for me.
But I then realised I'm not replacing the positional player but my 17th player.
Eg if you have Grant already, the buying Cook doesn't really give you an upgrade on Grant because Grant will be in your 17.  The upgrade is on the 17th man you ditch.
So, just better to get the highest scorer.  Which is kinda what you said.

For the record I've used my last trade on Papenhuyzen to AD and will hold the last four trades for cover only when necessary.

    Mahoney
    McInnes, Harris, Haas
    Crichton, Barnett
    Cleary, Moses
    Aitken, Talakai
    Hynes, Latrell, AD

    RFM, King, Robson, Volkman

Are you bringing Austin Dias in as purely a red dot for the run home? Pretty strange move with limited trades. Think you could probably find someone more useful, can I recommend Andrew Davey?

One thing that has worked well for me this year has been settling or just making my trades early and not second guessing every time.

Most just worry about the next score the trade in gets and bases the trade success on that next score that player gets, when in reality you don't know until weeks down the line.

The Latrell Turbo run is mental, that was a genrational season from Turbo, Latrell doesn't have the desire to churn out performances like that over a long period.

You don't get the base Turbo offers in terms of RM, so it's all reliant on tries and TAs, and he will get shut out of games

I'm looking at Barnett - Cotter next week and will hold 2 trades for injuries I think.

    Cook
    Yeo, Lolo, Harris
    Crichton, IPap
    Cleary, DCE
    Burton, Garner
    Latrell, Doueihi, Hynes

    Haas

Turbos run last year genuinely might be the greatest stretch of footy ever played by anyone ever.

Obviously the rules helped, but I don't think that's an overstatement, he was that fucking good.

There will be no Turbo run.

But also yes I'm getting Latrell obviously.
