Thanks mate.  I'm happy with my season regardless what happens these last 2 weeks.  Being forced into using my last trade gives me an uneasy feeling but nothing I can do about it.

Bird apparently is a definite stay away also.  He cites it would be a different story if he played lock and mentions his 81 from last week.  Does he not realise he played 60 minutes at centre and scored his 2 tries from there because of MBye??

That said, I also think the 4 extra has had the opposite effect for many. They got complacent and used the first allocation and the extra 4 turned up just in time for carnage round.

I brought this up a few weeks ago based on my own experience but wholeheartedly agree with the fact that the 'extra four trades' made people a bit more trade happy than they might have been. Realistically it's only 2 more trades than last year so there was no reason to be so devil may care.

Personally, I usually head into the final 4-5 rounds with at least 3-4 trades, whereas this year I had one (which I still have) due to uncharacteristically splurging on questionable trades in the couple of weeks leading up to round 20 and then getting caught by injuries & suspensions.

I will be interested to see any changes next year given every team gets an extra bye, the elimination of the rep round and increased impact of SOO. At some point they need to increase squad size rather than just fuck around with trade numbers (but that's a whole lot of engineering).
