Depends on bench make up. If they have Simpkin/Utility + Blore + 2 middles (Twal/Pole/Matamua) then that's more middle minutes available.

But if they go with an extra middle on the bench then time would seem a bit more limited. But if he gets a start in round 1 he'll be a popular fantasy pick, whatever the bench.

Wonder what will happen with Alex Twal this year. He is a good defender, and can play bulk minutes, but doesn't have a heap of impact running the ball. If he's not spending heaps of time on the field tackling everything, can they be more effective with rotating few a guys with a bit more oomph.

My son (nearly 15) was a trooper, just took it all, op done, cast up to his shoulder.

Tolman esq role for Twal. It's a long season so there will be times you just need someone who can suck up 40-50 minutes. Some weeks might play 30 off the bench, some weeks might be an early HIA where he gets 60. Hopefully allows Klemmer to be used more in an impact role

Bunnies manly aren’t the strongest teams but the sharks and knights seem to have picked pretty solid squads.

I wouldn't count on Blore being on the bench meaning many more MID minutes available when both the EDG players can just as easily play MID when Blore comes on.

With the talk being about how many passes they are throwing in training and being more attacking I don’t see where Twal fits in.

Metcalf still looks pretty raw to me but I wouldn't be surprised if he does a Johnson on Johnson and takes over from him mid-season.

At the very least, his style of play will put a bit more pressure on Johnson to get it right week to week.
