    230k, will he be named?

Im picking he'll be on the bench and he'll come on for RFM when he moves into the middle. Kikau's hia ruined a chance for us to see the rotation.
Id rather pay 230k for preston scoring 35-40 points than paying 400k for kenny to score 35-40 points

We'd all love to pay $230k for 35-40 points. But is a bench edge player going to be the one that does it for us?

Cheap in centre certainly, I have the same guns except Teddy instead of Grant. Tomato/tomato.

    Holmes Schoupp
    Manu Nofo Addo Carr

Egan K. Tuilagi D. Saifiti CNK

Not bad for my first draft I don’t think I have the worst team but not the best either.

First pick at six, Haas, decent. It's gets tricky then doesn't it? Fun but hey?

Are you referring to a couple of players who used this option to leave the Tigers? Not sure why you were voted down.

Yes that is the question. You just need to work out how many minutes that player will get off the bench, what their ppm is, is there opportunities for that player to play bigger mins if there is an injury during the game and most of all did that player pass the eye test in the trials. Then you'll be able to work out which player to pick

Yeah Hynes, Murray, Cleary, Cook, Grant all went first. My 2nd pick was Douiehi.

Yea it is fun but I still need to learn now this free agency thing works.

With this news on Angus mate I’m punting on Egan Butcher in classic I see upside in him I’d take him over Wilton.

Who are your cheapies currently mate? I have the same issue re what 2 gun mids to go. Nicholls is my 3rd mid. At hooker currently I have Cheese no gun hooker. Cleary and Douiehi halves.

At WFB I’ll go Walsh if he’s good for Round 1 otherwise Turbo.

Don't see the massive fanfair with Walsh, average low 40s in WFB.

A fair few games there where he was kicking A lot from FB which he won't be doing with ARey at the Donkeys dominating the in field kick game

Sure, except King is a middle, played big middle minutes in the trials (at a frenetic pace) and then went on to play big middle minutes in real life.

As HB points out, the whole hybrid thing (not him I suppose, the guy that moves from edge to mid) is uncertain, but I reckon the Luki thing was a decent analogy.

Milchcow wrote:After writing up < $300k backs, here is the next tier up. Apologies if I left out the player you are interested in. Its only because they are my super-secret POD who is going to average 40 and I want them to myself.

    Sean Russell $319k
Hattrick in 34 minutes  last year, which backed up a 39 (with 2 tries) in his only other start. Personally I am not inteersted because of a) his likely scores without a try, and b) not sure he has a spot secure in the Eels backline

    Junior Tupou $319k CTR
May take Maumolo's wing spot. Averages 29 in 4 games in the NRL, but people got excited by a 58 in the trial against the Raiders. Maumaolo's injury is "indefinite" and Staines is around as well, so who knows how long he'll be around for. Maybe you can do better with the $250k guys, but he is an option

    Te Maire Martin $313k HLF/WFB
Long term average of low 30s in the halves, but hasn't played NRL there since 2019. Priced under 20 he's a good option if he can get back up there

    Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, $372k WFB
Averaged 28 last year which is about where he is priced, but averaged 40 the 2 years prior. So everyone is hoping he gets back to those scores. 40 points is fine for a WFB, especially one you can buy for sub $400k, if he can get there

    Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow $372k CTR/WFB
He's a roller coaster. Has scored 35 in 8 minutes, and scored 6 point in 80. Fullback average is 31 and priced at 26. I think you can make money on him - he'll go on a run of scores at some point. Just depends how long it takes before he does it and if he loses too much money first. Maybe Bennett can get the best out of him at the Dolphins

    Lachlan Miller $426k WFB
Starting to get into expensive territory now, so you want clear points and value here. In his 4 NRL FN starts he averages 49 (2 tries in 4 games) so if that is a guide his 29 price point is a steal.
He averages 9 TBs a game in those games, which is actually a step up from the 8 TBS a game he averaged in 80 minute fullback starts in NSW Cup. Knights not as good a team as Cronulla. Will that impact his scoring?

    Izaac Thompson $319k
Been in many teams all pre-season. 32 and 49 in his previous 2 NRL games, both with a try. Averaged  44 in NSW Cup with 20 tries in 16 games. Priced at 22 he just needs to main a somewhat average try scoring rate and points could come. Also needs to maintain his spot when Milne comes back from injury

Thanks Milch - just going off memory but I'm sure both HTF and CNK played the #14 role last season and would have had some short stints, which I am guessing impacted their average somewhat (noting their average probably wasn't/isn't that high for 80min games anyway).
Can't see either of them dropping back to that same #14 role (at least not straight away), so has to be some value in both.

Charnze last season fullback average only 31 but only 4 games played mate, HTF legacy average at fullback 33

For both of them the averages I quoted were ignoring the bench games

CNK 28 at fullback (actually goes to 31 if you ignore <70 minute games) 23 for the whole season

HTF 21 for the season, 32 for 80 minute fullback (31.8 over his whole career)

Hopgood pretty much nailed on for MID dual addition isn't he?

Might use as the 3rd MID I've been craving an add another of the potential value EDGEs into the mix
