Garner’s big problem is his defense. He may have made 10 extra, but how many more did he miss?

Garner missed 2.7 Vs Kikaus 3.5 per game last season at 2rf but the point was more that I don't necessarily think playing for the Panthers instead of the tigers means more points for Garner this season.

    Last minute bizarre team thoughts

Depending on what happens in 2 or 3 hours I am closing in on selecting both Tiger Halves. Doueihi averages ~ 60 when playing with Brooks but here is the kicker - Brooks average is close to 10 points higher when paired with Doueihi at 5/8 than without. Both players do not have a bye until R13 by which time Brooks will be upgraded to Hynes.

Is this a Balls move? Undoubtedly! Will it work? Who knows?

Anyone joining me on the Brook Look?

Quick question regarding where people think the best value lies in making money.
I've drafted up a team that is very much Guns + Cows, where the cows I have selected I think are at value prices and have decent room to increase price and hold that increased value.
Currently the likes of Tapine, Haas, Carrigan, Fifita, Grant (along with guys like Cheese, E.Katoa, E.Butcher, Boyd and Hopgood who are obvious value guys with 'gun' potential).
Is there equal value in grabbing these aforementioned players and intending to keep them, or banking all the young guys like Hosking/Garner, Nicholls, Wilton, Loiero, Ford etc in place of 1-2 guns and riding them up in price, just to potentially bring in the previous gun guys down the track.

I'm seriously considering going the stacked approach considering I'm potentially saving on trades and acquiring similar value.

I'll obviously ride basement value guys like Preston, BMM, Preston, Stone, Carty, IKat, Blore, Talau etc with the hope of making $150k+
The result is a shallow backline and limited depth if cows don't make bank, but I'm really enjoying the stacked forward pack.

    Grant
    Hass, Tapine, Carrigan,
    Fifita, Butcher/Katoa

    Hope that makes sense Dance

catching up to the chat from this morning

the NZ test is getting really good! 25 to win, 2 wickets to go. Foakes and Leach in.

is To'o confirmed to be on the left wing on late mail somewhere or just random fb group rumours etc? won't bring him in nrlf but may consider him strongly in draft if he's most likely playing left wing.

I haven't made a squad yet and I've been ignoring any teams posted just to avoid building up any bias.

Kind of interested to see whether I just end up with the same squad as everyone else (within reason, there's a bunch of guns to debate and a bunch of cheapies that are going to be hit or miss).

I do have some ideas around who I will pick, a couple which are a little off the radar (but these aren't guys I expect to suddenly be 'guns', just provide solid scores until upgraded). Will see what happens at 4pm. I really need to make sure i keep some bank this year to make week 1 jumps from failed cheapie to someone who jumped 50k in a week much easier. Hopefully not tinkering forever trying to eek out 'value' will help with this.

I mainly want to pick a team that's fun to watch.

Joining the 'reveal' club hey. Tease.

There are a few optimisers/solvers in FPL, it's a mixed bag because it's often garbage in, garbage out and then people just making poor analytical decisions on top anyway.

For NRLFF I think you've got a few advantages
    - more complex point structure with more inputs should make predictions a little easier (less overall variance between predicted and actual)
    - there seem to be less popular dumb ideas in NRLFF to cloud a model.

I can't code for shit, but I love the idea.

I agree that NRLFF is a lot more predictable than FPL. I'm in my first season of FPL and so many points are based on luck, as 1 goal can make or break a player's fantasy output.
The fantasy output of NRL players seems to be a better reflection of how they perform in real life

If Thompson is out for any length of time (4+ games) then Sutton should be a special for Lock role.
