I was just about to say... today I've ended up getting rid of both Egan butch and Wilton due to the fact with Egan I'd have 3 roosters and concered with their bye and Wilton axing due to the comments today and a few people going cold on him.

My alternative I came up with before was getting Uto and Tino for them... looks nice. Tino's prop stats from round 20-25 last year look fantastic!

I've put zero thought into this new bye system but I don't quite understand not picking a value player that looks like they will score well and make money just because of a bye week.  I know it's getting 17 on the park, but a lot can happen before then, and trades are there for a reason. Plus, all players are going to miss a week regardless who you pick.

Absolutely no love for DFifi so far. Are we scarred by last year? or just too much value in Edges to start with to make some coin before hopefully picking him up?

With the addition of Foran, Boyd there to feed him as well with AJ again, and a contract year.. gut feel is screaming get him in

I just think there's too much edge value to start with a gun there.

I am a sucker for a party though, so currently still on Carty

Question for me though, is it better to get maybe 100k after 3 rounds, or say 150k after 6 rounds?

I dont really know, youd think we can improve on last year. Im a bit worried Reynolds is going to miss a few games. If hes not there then the wheels can fall off pretty quickly.

Staggs is just so up and down.

Have ended up with this team this morning, probably gonna run it out to start the year if nothing goes wrong between now and then!

    Grant (VC)
    Carrigan Hopgood Tino
    Loiero Katoa
    (C)leary Doueihi
    HSS Alamoti
    Teddy Miller Warbrick

    Cheese Boyd Uto Doorey
    Ikatoa Blore AKP Talau

55k ITB to fix up anything for round 2.

Never really thought of Tino and Doueihi in the preseason but after having a deeper look at their stats/roles I'm quite excited by them.

Feel like there's a good mix of guns in there mixed with some cows. Any feedback would be great cheers fellas!!!

My hot tip is that Carty swaps to bench in the confirmed teamlists.

Fantasy Amateurs boys are high on Frizell. Price discounted due to a painful, but playable, rib injury last year. Cut priced 2RF keeper potential at a decent discount (maybe 6-8 pts).

Only downside is of course the plethora of cheap edges.

I wouldn't start with a gun at EDG myself but if you think Fifi will play 80 mins every week then he's clear value

Priced at 52, and even in his "down" year of 2022 he averaged 62 in 80 min games on the edge, with only 3 scores under 50 in the 11 game sample (and those were 47 42 42 so not super low).

If you fancy a punt at the top end of players, he is a prime candidate with the improvements in the Titans spine.

Frizell burnt me last year owning him as a POD. Was hard to watch his performances last year personally.

When you consider the Sharks pack includes Finucane, Rudolf and Mcinnes, and it's a 4 forward bench, I can't see Graham only getting his minutes in the middle. And Wilton really needs 80 to be worth it.

Sharks fans may have other (more informed) ideas though. What say you Rev?

Can't say informed, but he has been in my team since first attempt. Does seem to need 80 for fantasy though, but could just as easily see that changing if given the chance.

I'm running with him, but he'll be the first on the chopping block if I want to change things up.

Has everyone gone cold on Gilbert? Haven't seen him mentioned for a while.

Have finally settled on a team I am happy with. I may be deluded but the hope is that I won't tinker anymore unless more news comes out about roles/injuries.

    Grant
    Tapine, Hass, Carrigan
    Fifita, E.Butcher
    Doueihi, Boyd
    Alamoti, Thompson
    Warbrick, Miller, Talau

    Cheese, Hopgood, E.Katoa, Ford
    Preston, Trindall, I.Katoa, HSS

Yes, I am ridiculously cheap and shallow in the backs but I can't get past the security and high scoring potential of my MID/EDG. Fifita looks fit and ready to go. Love the idea of having him as a POD.
No Cleary, Murry or Cook so I will be Captaining one of Grant or Haas...
HSS in Emergency as WFB/Ctr cover (via Talau and Thompson). Keen to see how these guys play out. Happy to drop Thompson/Miller after 1-2 weeks if they look like duds and there is a cheaper option available.
This will also help with my eventual plan of bringing in Cleary or Hynes (injury dependent) for Doueihi for Rd 4 (after Panthers bye).
Bank Trindall once Hynes returns (fingers crossed it's more 3-4 weeks - calves are niggly)!
That along with my other cash outs will hopefully allow me to bring in Turbo shortly after the Manly bye.
Then set and forget until SOO and ride the cashies!! rabbit

Sounds great in theory, never gonna be that easy but im happy with the risk reward strategy.

Another option could be to downgrade Grant to Hodgson to free up cash but I honestly don't know much about Hodgson (other than that he's old/older and returning from injury).
Any thoughts or insights into why the Eels Hooker might be a good option as a cashie and low end gun?

I can see that but owned him last year through the rib injury and watching the games he was so 'almost'. Good player but he's getting on a bit so I have to question whether or not he's ever going to be fully fit again and exactly how much value there is...I think it's a risk you don't need to take with that sort of cash

    Dear Mr Milchcow,
You generously gave a link to your solver spreadsheet. I thought I’d check l it out.
Sorry to trouble you: can you give a ludite a tip?
I’ve downloaded it Ok and Control Shift R is working to clear the team.
But Control Shift G is giving me a compile error of “can’t find project or library”.
I’m using Mac, so maybe that’s it?
    Thanks very much

Agree with the theory of there being too much value in the Edges to get Dfifi.

Stefano v Stone v Keppie for my final bench spot.

I wish I knew if stone was any good - new league fan!
