Re: The Not Thread-Worthy Thread
I count myself lucky that I have never had to work 2 jobs. If I did I reckon the mental side of it would get to me before the physical. Having to get on with 1 set of 'strangers' just to earn a living is hard enough.

Re: The Not Thread-Worthy Thread
I appreciate the advice mate. It was certainly on the radar to just move but I've got an amazing place by the beach and a Rottie who gets all my love and attention. I couldn't leave her behind, my best mate looks after her (he lives in my place) and he'd treat her amazing but I just couldn't be away from her to be honest.
I'm going over on a trip for 3 weeks in October/November and that'll be great for us. I feel a lot better about it than I first did. It's only a year in what I hope is my last relationship and that doesn't seem like a long time in context. She's such an amazing individual and she's worth persevering with - it's not going to be easy but I'm someone who's extremely independent and can get along with my own company.
As for the work man they've gone tits up since they said no to me. They've had 5/9 managers get fired or quit and they're in a hole at the moment. They've sent someone with less experience into the place I was going to go for the same amount of money to do half the job they wanted me to do. Just because they need it fixed which I would have fucking done haha. The area manager has said to one of the managers I know "we're going to get Shane in, he's needed here" well mate the place is a fucking mess and I have no faith they're on the right track so if I'm going in going for a fuck ton more money than was first suggested.
I understand the whole going back is a stay of execution type thing but I was never unhappy where I was. I'm treated like a king and I can do what I want and I'm respected which is a great feeling. So it's not a bad thing that I wait it out and see where I go from here. Who know what the next year will bring.

Why do you feel it's a stay of execution going back mate? It's where you've been comfortable for a while now and you moved up the ranks pretty quick so you are obviously rated. Do you think you might get pushed out for defecting? If so, document everything.

Lot of man feels going on in here. I'm going to get me a 6 pack and create some road kill so I feel like a man again.

I think I was referring more to what OZ thought I might be meaning.
I love it here so I don't feel bad at all about it.
I'll be staying. Optus are desperate now to get me over but I want way more money before I even consider it.

Re: The Not Thread-Worthy Thread
It's gonna be a fun week for ol' filth.
The ex has found a new place (she's been living with her brother since the split) so she'll finally be moving stuff out of the apartment this weekend. I think most week nights this week will be us dividing things and sorting out money + her boxing her stuff up.
Still not 100% sure how I feel about it all right now and I'm just letting myself feel what I feel and trying to be kind to myself and to her.
I've already got mates trying to set me up too and although I'm not ready for it, it's definitely an ego boost when you hear someones had a good reaction when shown your pics

Re: The Not Thread-Worthy Thread
Well. Fuck.
Virgin closing down puts me out of a job. I dare say now Optus will try and get me over there ASAP but I'm not sure I want to work for them. The redundancy package is very attractive and worth looking at. Still hate having a decision made for me, I absolutely hate not having a choice in how I want to live my life. However it is what it is and I'm sure I'll be fine. Got plenty of time to be able to cherry pick what I want to do.

Your store closing down? Fuck me, after all that.
You've always got choices mate! Life is what happens when you're busy making plans. This kinda thing is always gonna happen just how you deal with it and make something positive out of it.

Redundancy packages are good game changes. Take it.
