i'm still on page 11 where they are discussing ford & his likely dropping when curran is fit to start...what's to say it's niukore that gets put on the bench he's more of a utility than ford is

Bennett wouldn't promote a young guy to debut without confidence in giving him a run. Katoa would have to be truly shocking in order to be dropped.
Also the only person knocking down the door to replace him is Milford. We have seen the quailty of said person knocking down the door in the last 5 years, and it aint much!

If he did knock down the door it'd be his first tackle bust in a while.Finger Puppet Mafia wrote:

These are the reasons i didn't pick him despite the fact he is a great IRL player
I have been playing NRLF for over a decade and I can't remember a season where Hodgson has been relevant. He has always been low to mid 40's (i.e. just above where he is priced) and therefore a bit of an 'inbetweeny'
He is old and he isn't Cameron Smith in terms of 'been lucky with injuries'
Coming back from an ACL
Allegedly thinks the Ramones are overrated
I see him as as a Brandon Smith alternative but without the scoots, erratic scoring and mins, sin bins and the cheese (i.e. less fun)
He will of course be really steady until the SOO
Pretty much all of this. I don't think he's a bad pick per se & In a year where B Smith wasn't available he'd be 20+% owned I reckon. But I don't think he's a better option than Smith or Boyd and think there's better value in other positions.

Reason I have eschewed I katoa, don’t expect dolphins to score many points, expect dolphins to concede a lot of points, katoa is a slight fellow, in World Cup he was a weak point in defence,
Chosen trindall instead as know what you’re getting and he’s likely to get way more base points and plays in a better team
Finally if for some reason katoa is the second coming of Nathan cleary he will still be affordable next week

Very tempted to do the same. I've been quite conservative so far, wouldn't mind taking a shot at Trindall hoping Hynes is out for a bit longer than expected... Will monitor news over the weekend.GarethEllisismyDad wrote:Reason I have eschewed I katoa, don’t expect dolphins to score many points, expect dolphins to concede a lot of points, katoa is a slight fellow, in World Cup he was a weak point in defence,

Ofa hads been injured and has had an interrupted pre season. Twal I don’t think plays quite as many mins. There are just two middles on bench. I think Uto could really step up this year Sheens likes him he could get 45-50mins. Bateman is well underdone too I can’t see him playing 80mins his first few games unless the Tigers are losing gamesslats86 wrote:
Uto is in my trap list too. Ofa averaged 63 minutes last season, klemmer 60, Twal 49 - Then you add two 80 minute backrowers to the mix and a hooker combo that will share minutes with each other. It leaves fuck all minutes for Uto to increase to. I think he will average at most 42 minutes per game this season

I got Uto because saw pic in group of that NBWT Tigers twitter said Uto and Klem for big minutes. Hope it's right. 27 BE seems like near his floor

Re: NRL Fantasy 2023 Part 7 - Game day!!!!!
Have been travelling the last 30 hours straight, finally get WiFi, catch up and instant Fomo on hastings.
Was in all preseason until trials and already have enough knights exposure with Miller and Ponga.
Getting concerned about Blore, seeing a photo of skinny Bateman out running, then finding out that a cheap Haas could be on the horizon instead of having to eat my words and pick Doorey.
Seems there will be new cheap value trains leaving the station each week. Its important that you get on the right train.
Really looking forward to the Carty Party vs Borey Doorey tonight. Just have to try to stay awake a few more hours.

If TMM isn't in 17 he's a waste of money IMO. I don't think he will make good cash and is capable of junk scores. I want as little rubbish backs as possible especially for $$$ generation

5k in the bank
Robson
Cheese Niukore Utoikamanu
Tuilagi Hopgood
Cleary Burton
Holmes Alamoti
Tedesco TMM Warbrick
Boyd E.Katoa Garner Ford
Keppie HTF HSS AKP
Gone for value mid-pricers, versatility (DPP) & bench depth. Thus i dont have as many guns or 230/250k players as most teams.
