Coming to an end but there is still a few more chapters to go to see how it ends.

To be fair I feel I have been always ok at this Fantasy game, just never really been that outspoken or often advice on the old sportal forum got overlooked.
Guess it was always going to be interesting to document ever move I ever made and why i did it.Guess it's bonus that it looks like most worked out well.

A random thing I noticed this week was that I am currently sitting in 1st place in the 'Sharks supporters league' which is a $200 NRL shop voucher.
So have added that goal to my list as well, would be nice to get that but will see what happens there

Cheers mate, the most awesome thing is that you had pretty much the worst start a seasoned player could have. It was noosing up material after waiting for the comp to open and spending all those hours working your team and the anticipation of the start of the season and then BLAM!!! ranked 31000!

Haha pretty much. Think with all the months leading up we sometimes over complicate things or try to get that extra 1% out of a player and it doesn't always work out.
Classic example is Ah Mau, based on all the research when did and the theory crafting he would increase his minutes. We all know that result now

Combine those players and a crap load of injuries to start the season, all the high risk 'boom/Bust' types going big (Which I never really select) and some general bad luck and you have my 31000 score to start.
Anyways these things happen but if hopefully can be used as an example to not to give up

Yeah, I'm not a boom/bust player selector either.

With the LAM example and what we were anticipating this year, I didn't pick him but I picked KEvans for similar reasons. If we go down to the suggested 6 interchanges next year or the year after then we will all be in a pickle trying to anticipate what will happen once again. In saying that, if it does reduce again then it is more certain that players like Tolman/Jurbo play 80 week in/week out. But then you get smokies like Tim Browne who can play big minutes on the radar and they may just end up being flops like LAM/KEvans anyway.

Cheers Loose, yeah I can see you on the ladder but I'm still on the consolidation buzz trying to keep my place. Climbing any higher is bonus.

Bird and Walker was planned that way, so just calculated gambles really.

Should I play you in the eliminator I am predicting a tough match, but that's a few weeks away at least and given how brutal the first round was for some people, will be a challenge just week to week

Good work last week finally cracking the 1k mark.

I know you regretted trading in Lolohea but do you regrett trading him out now he is back in the no1 spot. An extra trade in the last few rounds could be handy

Just a little tip for the final rounds where players may be rested or late withdrawals.

I noticed this week you had some early gamers (Like Merrin) on the bench and late week gamers in the starting side. It should be the other way round so if someone pulls out in the late games its easy to switch the reserve button for you.

Cheers mate for picking that up, had an ultra busy week so normally try to do what you mentioned.
I know that can help big time and can save you, including trying to not move the DPP around too much with trades as this can effect reversals which I made the mistake once this year etc

Look I would be lying if I said I didn't regret trading him still but then he would probably be just a depth pick.
Will see over the next few weeks if i will live to regret not having that extra trade.Fingers crossed I don't need it

The way he was in the Cappy shit book at the time along with Barba in a fantasy form slump and Mitchell being injured I thought it wise to get a couple of POD Keepers.
If he had of kept getting picked for bench with the way his price was dropping I was worried he would give me zero options at all and needed his money to get me Walker/Bird

You win and lose some and definitely not perfect on that front, but then Bird/Walker are helping give me some POD's to try and give winning this comp the slightest of slim chances.

Appreciate the feedback eh, interesting to look back a few weeks and wonder if you should have done something different etc

I mean I have contemplated selling Merrin/Cartwright/Whitehead multiple times this year but for some reason I never pull that trigger.
Simply a case of watching their games and giving them a couple weeks to sort their scoring out before being put on the chopping block
Essentially just relying on the fact you bought them for a reason so trusting your gut/homework that they will come good
The curve balls are like what Cappy did to Lolohea or how players shoot themselves in the foot like Norman haha

Pretty much
Basically a season ending injury to my halves would hurt, ideally would prefer not to have to run with Barba/Walker there but could manage.
Hoping to get through another round or 2 unscathed

Either that or will splurge round 25 on a possible upgrade for the one round.

Round 21 Results

Well was a decent week and managed to hold my place in to the top 50, though was a high scoring round especially a few popular backs going large.
Went Bird over Barba as gambled on a POD to try and get me up a few places.
Looking at the top 50 the teams are very similar so feel like holding my place will probably be the strategy going forward so Barba is probably the safe option due to high ownership.
Will see what happens there

Congrats to the Big Doggies, beat me in the eliminator by 1 point

Coming to the pointy end of the season, a few weeks to hold on with my single trade. Will see how it goes again this week

Held my place this week, dropped a few places due to not having a few popular players like Tedesco but that's the gamble you take sometimes.
Still scored 900+ and reasonably happy still being in the top 50.
Wish I had a couple trades to fix JTrbo and bring in De Belin but going to save that trade.
