Week 4 Results
Well managed to field a full team in the end (only just) and crack 800 for the second week in a row so can't complain that much.
Made more inroads into my overall placing while winning my Head to Head game as well.
On the trade front, looks like another 2 good results with Parcell performing as expected and scoring alright and the Nikorima rumors proved correct so cashed out at a good time.
While RTS didn't go gangbusters, the fact he still scored 47 and playing him allowed me to field a full 17 it ended in a positive result.
The injury crisis didn't get much better given DCE and Cartwright both went off injured so will have to make some more forced trades this week.
Looking forward to team lists later today and hopefully more doctors reports.
Not much left of my starting team that aren't injured now. I think it is cursed, so perhaps a full clean out is needed and warnings must be given to anyone with these remaining players haha

You are doing well Boozey considering all your bad luck.
I also have DCE and Cartwright in my (VSDT) team, so I feel your pain.

Thanks mate, just treading water and trading to field a team each week. Hoping the bad luck ends, but it is what it is so got to stay positive haha.

Round 5 Trades
Brenton Lawrence -
Should be good for 40+ a game and is a former gun so can't complain at his price and is basically a scoring cow. Seems to be over any niggles/injuries and has the starting spot locked up for now. Free's up some cash to upgrade to a possible keeper in De Belin
Te Maire Martin
Has a low BE still so has some more price rises left in him. While he was quiet last week he is an attacking half and is decent on defense so should score ok.
The gamble is Segeyaro is due back from injury in a few weeks so who knows how long he will be in first grade.
Though a positive is Wallace has been effective at hooker and Segy could be used as an impact player.
Long term investment as if he gets benched then he will probably get more game time later in the year depending on how Panthers go.

Paul Carter has made me some cash and can't afford to have too much $$$ and ??? on the pine considering all my injuries etc. Cashing out now helps give me options for next week.
While Cartwright has some question marks over him with his injury, I can swap between Te Maire Martin and him for 4th reserve.
This is a gamble bringing in Martin, but not going to gain much more on the table by being conservative.
Will look at bringing in gun halves later once the cows peak
Unsure how Cartwright pulls up as his trade is on the cards next week to someone who is a potential keeper and is bye friendly like De Belin/Frizell .
Also Mann will be looked at as well
Thoughts?

I like your trades Boozey.
In VSDT, I'm bring in TMM for DCE, and B.Law for either P.Carter or B.Henry or (unlikely) B.Cartwright, so we are on the same page.

If you didn't have Walker who is flying I wouldn't of gone with the risky DCE - TMM trade too much risk involved for me
really like the Carter - BLaw trade mate

Thanks guys for your feedback.
Anyone scoring 40+ at this time of the year is worth a spot in your 17, if they are making coin then even better.
Rather than looking at the position I am looking at the players and building my team around these money makers. At the moment it is in the halves so hence the 4 cows.
A cow half is also pretty safe as it takes a bit to not score points in this position.
Then you have fullbacks like Barba/Mitchell who again are still pretty safe options.
Fullbacks a little more risky but they get a lot of kick defusals and run metres.
This also takes away of who to choose in reserves as you don't have all this money tied up in NPR's or spread across more players.
The best thing about these is the player ownership on these 'risks'. If they do score low the chances are most get hit with this score so you don't lose any ground.
You are targeting the other 2/3 of your team to make this ground on the opposition
This leaves $$ to strengthen other positions with 'fallen guns' and basically turns a cow into a gun without much investment.
Ie time it right and you have turned a Hastings into a Maloney/Sezer/Mullen = Have basically bought him for nothing and if you get the swing right you get him returning to old scores and also at low ownership = POD.
Anyways just my thinking

He is, but I am talking from day 1 the injuries I have had to deal with in my team..
Have made a playing team out of it now haha

Just checking haha I thought I was fed false information on Lichaa returning this week. Wouldnt surprise me if someone tried to pull an April Fools joke to try and stuff up peoples Fantasy teams.Boozecluez wrote:

Week 5 Results
Well another week down and my team managed to perform above average and jump some places on the overall ladder.
Jtrbo was a late pullout but other than that managed to avoid injuries for the first week since season started.
Surgess performed as expected coming back from injury but played big minutes and cleaned out the cobwebs so should be good for next week.
Merrin looked lazy and uninterested but will play origin so might be an ealry trade
The traded in players worked out alright, due to the scarcity of low prices players they have done their job and will hopefully continure to make $$$
Special shout out to Honeysett this week, thought I was done for but was saved by a special someone.
Black widow was the difference in the end, sorry mate but this time you are on the receiving end of his sting.
Overall things are starting to sort themselves out

So Mann to Tedesco and Merrin to ??
Id almost be tempted to hold Merrin as everyone else is jumping off and hope he turns it around and becomes a POD

Merrin will be given another week and put on notice as don't want to carry him over origin
Gives me reserves of Parcell, JTrbo, Whitehead and Taylor (Blaw as backup to taylor depending on if Roberts stays out)
200k in bank lets me upgrade the mid rangers like Whitehead/Saifiti or look at Merrin/Cartwright in later weeks as well.
Players like Tolman,Mau,JDB,JGraham,Taukeiaho will be looked at over next few weeks to be brought in for byes. Can be left in team for rest of year as they are all keepers
Then look at guns bleeding cash like Mannering, Harris (if DPP and use in CTR)
By playing Barba and Mitchell, due to ownership they are low risk so will keep playing them.
What do you think? As much as i would love Tedesco, his money helps set the rest of the team up much better for byes.
