Trying to decide if I can get ballsy on Cleary.

Him and Cheese to Grant and Arey looks mighty nice for solid scores based on the first two rounds, that probably equate to more points even when Cleary plays after his bye.

It really does help my team balance as I get a top tier HOK and a form Half in a team that looks like getting a few wins in coming weeks, instead of an average to below average HOK and Top tier Half as I have now. If I werent getting two guns I'd never consider selling Cleary.

Think I am sold on selling Cheese regardless and maybe picking up later after the Roosters bye once his price has dropped.

Means my line up this week becomes:

    Grant
    Haas, Hopgood, Carrigan
    DFifi, Katoa
    Arey, Trindall
    Almoti, HSS
    Latrell, Miller, Warbrick

    Carty, EButcher, Sutton, Preston
    Boyd, BMM, Doorey, TMM

Also considering selling Cleary here, as I could go him to DCE and Boyd to either Egan or Koroisau.

Other option would be Cleary and Boyd to Robson/Mahoney and Reynolds/DBrown

Currently my trades are Boyd and Ford to Mahoney and Sloan, keeping Cleary.

    Thoughts?

I am really not sure I would trade out Ford if I owned him.

I am not keen on trading out Cleary, he had an average game R1 scoring 61.

He had a pretty awful game plagued by his ankle R2, I think that will be his worst score of the year and he has two weeks to recover.

I guess if you need to shore up hooker option 2 for me. Sloan seems a reasonable cash cow option.

Yep, that was the reason I sold Cleary last week. Was everyone's default captain, not a value buy.

I brought Grant in this week, now I'm just looking for some viable back-up other than Boyd & Cheese.
    candidates:

    Garlick 273k
    Luke 293k
    Levi 351k
    Kenny 470k
    Turpin 417k
    Walters 446k

Soni Luke probably the most exciting one if Kenny is sidelined for some reason.
I'll probably run with Boyd in the NPR and wait for the Cheese to drop in price and pick him up at sub 500k

Yeah I would prefer to keep Ford but I don't really have anyone else to sell to raise enough money to go Boyd to Mahoney, unless I were to sell Cleary (if I did that I would probably go DCE and Koroisau/Egan or Cook and Burton)

Basically I need a good hooker and if I sell Cleary, I need a gun half to replace him (or a subgun half and gun hooker)

Garlic isn't in the 17 this week
Turpin, Walters and Levi all suck
Kenny is decent if he can keep playing big mins (first 20-25 at hooker and 30-35 in the middle would be nice) but otherwise a bit of a midrange trap
Luke could be good but his PPM sucks

I am seriously looking at SJ instead of Reynolds.

Likely 5 less points a week, but saves $125k and likely better price increases through to round 13 when you trade to Hynes.

The real upside is that it would allow me to do Boyd to Bird next week in a single trade, with the extra $125k, which is a nice keeper upgrade, (I miss Walsh to do this). He is my only CTR target, not interested in the messy midrangers that can score just as badly as the guys you are replacing them with.

Bird started doing slapsies across the field last week and I instantly regretted not having him.

Fortunately Trindall and Carty are going to be entering the price point where they can be directly traded to players that can match them for scoring in the next couple of weeks. Makes replacing their output in the 17 much easier.

I think a lot if people will use the extra trades this year for weekly bye coverage, especially in the early rounds.

A bunch of people probably had Cleary out this round pencilled in from the start

    opinions please lads!

which option do we think is more viable within the next 2 weeks:

    1) Bringing in Hynes & Koroisau. (giving Hynes a week to see how his injury is affecting him, and allowing koro to bleed a little more cash before jumping on to hopefully get back into the mid-high 700k) both POTENTIAL origin

    2) Bringing in Moses & Mahoney. good byes, next to no chance of origin, both making money and scoring well (and in moses's case, not winning games) + 150k extra in the bank

Option 2, but only if you are doing it this week for Cleary / Smith. Also worth considering Reynolds or SJ instead of Moses, then trade to Hynes after round 13.

Trying to find other trade options that don’t involve Ponga and Cheese but I don’t think it’s going to happen this week. If I don’t bring in a WFB I’m playing 1 short and it seems Preston is as close to a must have this week as you can get in a season.

I mean it must be nice to have most of the decision making process done for you. Team looks like this

    Hodgson
    Hopgood (c), Tino, Carrigan
    Butcher, Carty
    Trindall, Boyd
    Shields, Alamoti
    Walsh, Miller, Warbrick

    Welch, Katoa, Loiero, Cleary
    Doorey, Sutton, Preston, Utoikamanu

14-21 full of forwards sans Cleary but they are all making some coin but have a selection headache

I did, anticipating Hynes back, but I have kept Cleary, brought in DCE, and I will trade Cleary to Hynes once Sharkies pass their BYE.
