I'm worried about fielding 16 unless it's trade to get Ikatoa in case Doueihi doesn't play. Can't see how Doueihi is a trade in this week

I can wait until TLT to trade him in and pivot to Koro if he is out

My thinking for Katoa is that he looks good enough as a player that he should make some cash quickly at some point. The concern is that he'll have a few low ones too - hoping that isn't the case this week as I have him in the 13.

Yeah I would only plan to have him in my playing team this round, which might be okay with the Dolphins on a victory and Wayne-infused high against the Knights reserve grade. Could fill a handy gap then back to be bench to hopefully make cash

    GarethEllisismyDad wrote:

The first trade looks great to me, what’s the hesitation?

I don’t mind the Mahoney I guess, its probably SJ that bothers me- I still don’t trust him without another look or two and getting all the kick metres hasn’t meant quite as much since the nerf. But with Trindall and Boyd on thin ice, I need a half more than a hooker. Even with Mahoney, I think he might put up gun scores, but all the teams should be aiming to run Cook/Grant/Robson to eek out that extra bit of value in that position, and the squads are barely flexible enough to carry a third hooker let alone a fourth. So I end up with two players I still eventually need to move on.

Carrigan in doubt, sigh. With Ford out as well I'd be playing 16 already. https://twitter.com/7NewsBrisbane/status/1635934778552897542?t=uTRKCpzgtbHWxkNlToAaPw&s=19

Those of you that want Hynes if he’s back next week I’d rather wait a week to see if he gets through the game first if he plays and does his calf again you’re not gonna be happy two trades wasted.

I would prefer he return in round 5 but either way I have a Doueihi to Hynes trade pencilled in for round 7

In response to what Souths pack will look like in a couple of weeks Matt was right at this stage Beth, they wanna use Arrow more in the middle this year. If fit Host is favoured to start on the left edge but might start off the bench intially first game when he’s back round 4/5.

By round 5/6 I think we will see

    Tatola
    Cook
    Sele
    Keaon
    Host
    Murray

    Ta’affe
    Tom
    Arrow
    Chee Kam/Shaq/Moale

Also rumour around we may leave Ta’affe out this week and go with a 4 forward bench of Moale, Tom/Sele, Shaq and Jed.

Will know more hopefully tomrrow captains run.

I’m thinking I might forego getting another gun mid and fixing the most volatile position this week which is centre….

I can do Cheese to Preston and Talau to Bird leaves me 71k and 33 trades spare and…. (Means I have to play BMM at mid this week and hope Ford starts next week which I think he will)

    Grant
    Haas BMM Hopgood
    Katoa Loiero
    Douiehi Trindall
    Bird Alamoti
    Turbo Miller Warbrick

    E. Butcher Preston Ford Cleary
    Cartwright I. Thompson Boyd Doorey

Could then look at a Boyd to S. Luke for example next week as an option and go E. Butcher to a Tohu or if Walsh brains it can go Miller to Walsh and Trindall to S. Luke for example next week etc…..

    Thoughts?

If Jed is there, it seems weird to have both a fullback and a center on the bench

Why not wait until Week 7 after the bye. That is a lot of money to be on the pine and there are just a few more weeks in any case. Price is more likely to go down than up

    Ta’affe for Jed a 4 forward bench I think you’ve misread.

Also on your Preston take I don’t think he will avg 50, 40-45 I reckon.

Averaged 51 for Norths. Was watching an interview with Flanagan, he was saying his job is to give the guys outside him time and space (i.e. shuffle the ball on and they get the running meters - Flanagan has averaged 38 running meters this season). He is a tackle bot who gets good attacking ball and can score a try or 2. Will be surprised if he doesn't hit 50 average.

Also worth noting that it is really hard to stack hookers this season, as in the origin bye rounds, you can only play 1 of them (unless they are dual). So you don't necessarily want both Robson and Mahoney at the same time.
In Fantasy is the 13 Origin bye players only numbers 1-13 or the 13 best scorers like SC?

It's 1-13. They haven't thought it through. So if you have Robson and Mahoney in R16, for example, you can only play one of them.
