I'm also interested in this discussion. A lot of hyperbole last night. Why are we bringing in Hosking? Cash cow or keeper? Is Garner fit? Which edge does he play? Coach said Martin back next week. Coaches lie but what is the Hosking role? If he has the role at his price, is he worth it (I think he is, but threw it in there).

I'd probably get on if named to start with Garner benched or out injured 2 or more weeks. Need to see his updated price and projections, but if it looks like a quick 100k, that's good enough for me. Potential to be a keeper based on previous scoring if starting, but fast cash is my priority. A few questions answered on TLT.

9/566(c) which seems a bit average/under par, but with about a mil either in the bank or on bye it's not too bad

I am currently considered the #1 nrl fantasy player in tasmania though, it's kind of a big deal I guess

What an evening of Fantasy NRL Football Rugby League. I won't say it's been a good one, despite many good things happening. Main cause of grief is that I was relying on IKatoa to put up whatever he could in my halves this week as I traded elsewhere.

What I did see was that he was out, an hour before kick off. What I did not see - and it was painful to see in hindsight - was that Lawton was taking Croker's place this weekend. That would have been perfect in solving all my woes, and given me a scoring half (Boyd) and hooker (Lawton). Now I need to work with Trindall's -3 as my second HLF score for the week. Don't get me wrong; this decision is all my choice as I wanted to go through with the trades I'd locked in this week (and one was already locked out anyway), so it is what it is. Hoping it all works out in the long run. But IKatoa, when I needed you most. Fuck.

Anyway, I've not seen these scores, so lets have a look. Two enjoyable games tonight. Solid variance in quality, it must be said, but I thought the Tigers gave a fairer crack tonight and the second game was a belter. So close for the mighty Dolphins.

Bateman - surely, as an EDG at that price he can't be a consideration for anyone at all, but certainly looking the goods. Definitely a real shining light in his team.

J.King - fucking hell, just did not need that in my main H2H duel this weekend. Wonder how many picked this at the start of the season.

iPap - wow, back into contention, I see. Was wondering if he'd still be one of the top picks at the end of the year. Obviously just one noteworthy game so far, but the signs are still there.

E.Katoa - not sure if I'm allowed to be a little bummed at this, but looked like he was headed for double this score early on. Of course I'll take it and smile, but I allowed hope to take me to grandiose places in my mind.

Loiero - saw his name come up in trader's speak this week and I didn't understand it, for reasons such as this.

Warbrick - on the warpath (NRL Fantasy 2023 Part 22 - Go the Phins - Page 12 Giphy). What a sweet turnaround, and in my 13 too, thankfully. I was keeping an eye on his score in my H2H duel screen, but in watching the match, I have to admit, I wasn't really sure where this many points came from, but I'll take each and every last one of them.

Doueihi - ouch. In light of what has transpired with IKatoa and my lack of halves, it might have paid to hold off on trading him out for one more week. Yes, he still lost money but I think it's putrid what they're doing with their spine and I'd have to assume Doueihi is back in halves with Laurie back at fullback sooner rather than later?

Pezet - another contender for what could have been if I'd got that IKatoa news a bit earlier. This probably would have been my likely choice, in all honesty, even if only for two weeks.

Koro - wow, 80mins with a try. He's just not scoring so well this year.

Kepaoa - another go getter. Having a good crack.

Blore - now this was unexpected, and creates a minor issue. I'd actually traded him out first and foremost this week, until I figured he could still maybe make a dollar, and as I was trading in Lemuelu and already have Alamoti and Hammer, I didn't really need HSS anymore, even less so, I hope, than Blore. So I've traded out HSS and kept Blore. Problem is, Blore was a locked in part of next week's trades, but I won't be able to trade him out now with what will - I assume - be a pretty tasty BE. Even with limited mins, looks like he might make a couple of dollars for a short while. Although I have no idea what's happening with Ofa and what could happen with that bench make-up...

Olam - wow, 18 with a try. I don't think I'd ever take a punt on him no matter what, but that price is sure to take a solid hit.

Naden - how torturous this ride would be as an owner.

Laurie - hadn't thought much of this, but imagine a few weeks of this routine and what his price could become. He could become unexpectedly interesting. But I can't see them pulling this shit again, surely?

    Now, game two... let's inspect-

    (C) Haas - you beautiful man. Not going to lie, it definitely hurts not captaining Clearly last night (especially considering updates I understand are still coming his way?) but I'd be a mongaloid to be too bummed with this.

Wallace - not a name you see up this high often. Nice.

    Carrigan - solid again.

Hammer - you other beautiful man. Of course I'll love and caress this score deep into the evening, but surely it wouldn't hurt for him to score a try every now and then where people actually touched him. But this is very nice, and much needed in my team this weekend.

Staggs - impressive again, especially the end there (minus the try celebration). As with last week, I hope I played him in whatever other format I own him in...

Lemuelu - and here he is, the cause of so much trauma inside my head before this match. Yes, I'm glad he's in my team and this is a juicy CTR score, but would I have been happy to hold off one more week and have Lawton in my team so that I had a scoring HLF and HOK this week? Yep, I think so. But what's done is done and this is very nice. Already an enjoyable player to own.

Walsh - this one must be pleasing for owners. Didn't tear the place apart but still a good solid WFB score. Nice.

Milf - what an interesting situation this now becomes if SOS is as bad as it looks. Firstly, hoping IKatoa elbow isn't something that keeps him out for another week, and if it is these two, what do their roles look like? For me, Milf probably too expensive to punt on, but will there be an uptick in IKatoa's value? Hope we get to find out next weekend.

Reynolds - had a sneaky look at him and SJ in my pre-game panic as I could have afforded anyone bar Hynes (cash for Brailey next week). Glad I didn't take this punt, though I assume this is a once-off.

Mam - lol, as it stands, both on 31. How interesting.

Teague - I was cursing the fact that he did not have HOK DPP before the game, but to be honest, did not score anywhere near as well as I thought he would (26 in 44min).

Niu - how on earth did he play 80mins on one leg?

SOS - bummer to see. Fierce competitor. I hope for his sake it's not as bad as it seems, but doesn't look good.

Lots of interesting stuff in there, but my quick thoughts for the night. Enjoyable night overall, now just hoping Hynes looks a little rusty tomorrow so they decide to give him one more week off, just to be safe. Please? Even if they just give him 50mins to slowly adjust him into full fitness and Trindall plays out the last 30? Anything, please, I will take.

Looks like I'm 10c/669 after dragging the old calculator out. Update the site you drongos.

Just says Croker will miss the game due to a shoulder injury on nrl and Manly's injury update.

At this point it time to accept that Hammer is the one that got away for me, been interested since Round 1 but every week he ends up being the third trade I would’ve made, and now hes getting to a price where I’d rather just pay the extra for Teddy
