Why don't you go do a refs course and give them a hand at setting that bar high then champion. There human just like you and me, they bleed the same colour blood and breathe the same type of oxygen. In terms of officiating, as Raiders fan we have had probably the biggest ref blunder in recent years with the six again call. Premishireship defining some may say. Is it that big of a deal though? The better team won that day and 9/10, the better team will win regardless of ref/bunker call. The real world isn't perfect nor is Rugby League - that's what makes it so entertaining. That's why we tune in to watch some tough bastards go hard for an 80 minute period. Sports is meant to be a release from the real world' and provide genuine smiles and happiness. Ref's don't go out there with the intention to make the wrong call or make a mistake - once again they are human - they make mistakes. Ref's have a pretty fucking tough gig these days and one slight error in judgment and they are on the front of the papers, top article on the sports websites and by the time their off the field and by the time they are off the field and open their phone - hate messages, death threats, family threats... That's fucking shit. Regardless how much they get paid.Rabbits21 wrote:
I know it’s not an easy job at all but I feel the state of reffing is at an all time low. Compared to say a decade ago I’m seeing more errors now and not as much consistency. If they get blatant calls wrong they deserve to be scrutinised and not just go through 5-6 of them like Annesley does every Monday and smooth over the other 35 of them when there are at least 40 of them every week. Lots are over it many who support various clubs.
We should be aiming high but it feels the bar is set quite low currently.
You have a great outlook on the fantasy with a respected and valued opinion around here and I think majority here including myself love the passion for not only the Bunnies but rugby league you have. In saying that, the ref bashing must, stop, it's just lame and boring at this point and everyone is over it. Be better.
Jog on.
