Definitely still and always has been Hosking v garner not going to lie had a hard time pulling the trigger last week and glad I did but I think If I had of missed the train last week I wouldn't get on this week. I believe he has done enough to win the spot and keep it once garner returns but don't hold a lot of hope since he didn't win the spot after a whole pre season.

I’d like to sit tight this week and not make any trades but a couple of points have me thinking.
Is it really worth waiting for Hynes over Cleary? $129k ain’t nothing to sneeze about and I’m not convinced Hynes doesn’t make Freddy’s squad.
Got me looking at a Hopgood to Cleary trade and I can do that if I bring in Lindsay Smith as my Mid cover (Carty out). Wish I knew more about Smiths role, but a nice 3-4 week cash grab appears to be worst case scenario with JFH out, unless Martin and Garner come back in and they mix up rotations.

Yeah bit annoyed scenario didn’t change from last week, was hoping at least Martin was going to be back.

I thought he was running really good lines last week and may have done enough to secure spot (so is still a good pick up). Alternatively for me is a gun WFB.

There was a good comparison mentioned with 2021 Burton where he took Momirovski spot after suspension and form kept his spot for rest of year.

There was a lot of pressure to play Burton due to them knocking back his request to leave the club & his form when he got a chance

If Carty retains that EDG, he has money to make, can be an EDG keeper and has the best bye schedule.

Next few games are really good opportunities to rack up attacking stats for him - Tigers, Bulldogs, Broncos, Newcastle, Titans, Raiders.

Reynolds is going a week early for me, as I was planning to sell him for Hynes anyway and I don't think he'll go much over 55 if that given that Walsh does all the attack in that team. I've only made one mistake so far this year and that was buying Reynolds for 750k instead of SJ for 650k two weeks ago, and I intend to fix that this week.

Reynolds and Carty to SJ and Russell, 203k bank which will be used to buy Hynes next week:

    Brailey
    Haas, Murray, Hopgood
    E Katoa, Hosking
    Cleary, SJ
    Bird, Alamoti
    Walsh, Miller, Hammer

    Loiero, Ford, Preston, Russell

    Keppie, Warbrick, Sloan, I Katoa

But Hammer has a BE of 35, remember.

I'm a bit on the fence about Hynes. His price is really throwing me

Just future planning, say I want to get in two top line guns - Cook and Cleary. Right now they'd be combined 1745k

As a straight comparison, Hynes himself is 1008k, leaving 737k behind for the other player, for argument's sake. That'd be a Carrigan level kind of guy

Think everyone would go Cook and Cleary in this circumstance. And if Hynes does play SOO then he misses one extra game compared to Cleary

Exactly. It’s not always about having the best guy but instead having the best balance and distribution of wealth. Hynes would be great but if the it means I can upgrade Warbrick to Teddy (or similar trade) then Cleary seems a no brainer.

Yep. Team balance usually comes out on top

Probably worth noting that Hynes also scored like 20 points in the second half vs the Warriors. So he's not immune to a dud game either

Does everyone already have AFK or people not keen? That BE is hard to ignore for me. I think he comes in for HSS.

Yeah I did think he looked good too.

If he does keep the spot I'm not sure what to estimate his long term average at, unproven and small sample size - around 50?

So no longer a trade in for cash making purposes, just for scoring?

Probably not going to love watching Panthers games as a non-owner though, his try last week felt inevitable all game.

Finding really hard to decide whether he’s a buy or not over other cheapies

If he posts another big game in the next 2 he’ll skyrocket but equally could go without tries and with limited base be a flop despite negative BE

Never really found out who misses out as JFifita got injured (now back on extended bench) + Maumalo moving to Titans

What role did J Reynolds play last week when he came on? I missed the Bulldogs game but wondering if he's a better option than Nikorima.

Wish I knew more about Smiths role, but a nice 3-4 week cash grab appears to be worst case scenario with JFH out, unless Martin and Garner come back in and they mix up rotations.

Looking at your team, Trindall and BMM appear the most obvious trade outs, one is a must trade, this week or next, the other is significantly under-performing, with 3 scores of 24 or less as starting EDG, and has a high of 35.
