Josh Schuster is reportedly set to miss Round 6, failing to overcome the quad cork that kept him out last week (via
    @MCarayannis
). Don’t often see a multi-week absence from a cork, must be a significant one

Need funds to bring in the Chin. I can't do it anymore, my couch is not big enough

Mahoney and J.Brailey allows me to do this. Absolutely sideways, but if it facilitates the Chin it has to be worth it right?

Not really sure I should be letting SJ go by, even at 760. Just short of using Carty. I could just swap HSS for Knik and re-asses next week but would suck to death ride that handsome man

SJ at 760 is a bit crazy, I understand still wanting to buy him though.

I'm not too sure what I'd do if I didn't have him, probably would lean to biting the bullet and paying up for him.

I like your second option a lot more than the first. Like all gun WFBs best to hold Latrell through the lows and wait for the highs, him to Walsh would be very sideways.

    I don’t think it’s that sideways

Mahoney is a demerit king and Brailey is a tackle bot who plays R13

Trading HSS out for a centre.

If you had funds for any (gun) centre in the game, who would be your pick? Need a bit of help.

Bird. Anytime I can get a non-centre at centre I'd take it

Fantasy points conceded table after 5 rounds.:

Still early days so there are quite a few big swings but some interesting things to note.
Eels conceding 17.7 points above average to fullbacks. Eels (Moses) is leading kick metres per kick by a long way and this seems to be translating to more running opportunities for the fullbacks.
In 2021 and 2022 Halves + Five Eighths averaged 85 points between them per game but the difference between them was Five Eighths 40ppg and Halves 45ppg. While they are still averaging the close to that combined this year halves are far more dominant.
Lock scoring and minutes is up on the past two seasons while hooker scoring is trending in the other direction.

Its classic CM clickbait with the ~million+ tag. He's extended to 2027 so, yeah, over the life of 4 or 5 years it would be 1 million+

Herbie leaving next year, that spot could go to Cobbo or potentially Mariner down the line.

Would be in everyones team in round 1 if he gets the spot.

    Lemuelu, Alamoti
    Turbo, Miller, Sloan

    Ekatoa, Preston, Carty, Boyd

    Loiero, Utoikamanu, Warbrick, IKatoa

Feels a gun short, I guess because I've got 2 playable people at 18/19?

The way I see this is even though you are a gun short, that can be easily fixed in the coming weeks. Not sure what sort of bank you have, but I’d be looking at getting someone like a Robson. Brailey is going to be missing in round 14, and is Tanah still going to be in your team at that point? Loiero still has a few good weeks of money making in him, hopefully, so he could be one to upgrade when his bye comes around. I know he has a bye next round, but I like the idea of have Uto as an 18th man.
There’s also players like Tapine, Matterson, Frizell??, to consider. Personally, and possibly silly of me, but I haven’t put much thought into the backline, but it looks better than mine.

I feel like they are a gun shy of a top team.

Looks par to me, it's a bit early to tell. You got to take squad value with a grain of salt. Teddy owners for example have lost 161k which would impact their squad value, but they could well be on par money generation wise with the rest of the team

Just on the Carty/Hopgood trade out for an established gun (i.e. Cleary),

    Carty averages 49
    - 1 week = $29k profit
    - 2 weeks = $29k + $23k ($52k profit)

    Hopgood averages 64
    - 1 week = $21k profit
    - 2 weeks = $21 + $19k ($40k profit)

    Cleary averages 70
    - 1 week = $18k profit
    - 2 weeks = $18k + $19k ($37k profit)

Point being that the potential money lost on trading Carty and Hopgood can be negated somewhat by the likely increase in price of Cleary over the next few rounds. He's likely not gonna be this low in price at any other point this season.
Also no guarantee Carty/Hopgood come close to their season averages and make that much more money.

Maybe the plan for Hopgood is to come on after 20 mins or so and play out the game? Very times this season he seems to run out of smoke quite fast because he's in everything

This way it's 20 minutes of somewhat high intensity, then halftime to refresh, then the next 40 at a stable pace
