HSS was 18th man, so might take a while to work out he didn't play

I'm pretty sure it's just delayed because HSS was 18th man for Raiders, so an active 0 so to speak, compared to bye or injured players that were DNPs and have already been added.

    Cheers both.

It does work it out eventually is good news  Was worried you couldn’t do the dark arts with 18th players and I’d missed the memo.

Currently 776 so add in Warbrick and maybe some positive updates and it should be a nice round for once

Trindall's 0 min bench appearance registered as a DNP, so 18th man should be sweet too

Good point. Missed the upcoming bye.

Like I said, I've got no idea which way to go.
What I do know is, the Storm Bye will leave me 1 Edge down (assuming I move Carty on).
    I have Loiero / E.Katoa / Carty / Hosking / L.Smith / Preston.
    I'll need another reserve.

832 for the round - in a pretty weird round for everyone I'd say

At this stage, I really don’t care. I’ve obviously done something wrong for my side to score only 713 points round, and someone in one of my leagues only played with 16, and still scored more than that! You guys can keep saying all these nice words of encouragement, but I got it all wrong from the start. It’s limbo time. How low can I go?

It's all relative, this wasn't a round where other teams are putting up 1k+ scores.

There's plenty of time to bounce back and I guarantee fantasy form with elite players like Teddy & Tapine is temporary.
There's always going to be a big score around the corner from those guys.
I make and have made as many mistakes as anyone else here, but happy to offer some team advice if that's helpful at all

Looks like I'm down 11 points when Eels and Storm v Manly downdates are applied. Takes me to 776 Sad

Playing Hands over Carty wasn't the 20 point gain I was hoping for, but will take the +3 nevertheless.

At 751 it looks like my shit week was even possibly a little shitter than many. Got a win in my main H2H, so I guess that's a good thing, but really not liking where my team's at.

A few thoughts as I ponder the situation-

Boyd - this round, he scored more or less on par with most the best hookers, so can't be too displeased with how he's going. Would love if he could keep it up to allow to me avoid thinking too much about hookers and and how to get them in.

Haas - it's nice having players that be good.

Tapine - unlike this dude. Haha, I've been okay with what's been happening in the season so far, but this is an ugly turn of events. Going to hold, but what garbage this was today.

Carrigan - and this guy too. Again, hadn't thought of moving him on when people were doing so, but seriously considering it now. The thing I thought since this game is that I just got rid of Hopgood for the same reason, and he doesn't play Origin. So why am I holding Carrigan when this money surely does better things elsewhere? Might be time to move on this week, I think. Will lend an eyeball to JDB and McInnes.

Hosking - I do like solid and reliable.

E.Katoa - first off week, so hoping it's a once off. Will hold and see.

Cleary - played himself into a weekly battle with Hynes for captaincy each week now. Was hoping I could just leave it on Cleary.

Hynes - thank goodness for the last quarter of this match, but a pretty nice start to our 2023 friendship. Quick look at next week's matches and looks like I'll probably try him out as captain.

Lemuelu - been a pretty underwhelming few weeks here too. Still, they're good CTR scores and there's bigger fish to fry, but this situation is definitely on notice.

Hammer - not his best week, but still an adequate CTR score if this is one of his off weeks.

Miller - disappointing week, for every single player in Fantasy, so a non-issue here.

CNK - brought him in for Warbrick this week, lol. Off the top of my head, was it Warbrick's second highest score vs CNK's lowest non-HIA score? What a truly joyous game, but hoping for long term gain. Gotta admit, though, this trade probably didn't need to be done with Ponga coming back (yes, I'm already considering it) and Turbo's price drop. Not as well thought out, I don't think, as it would have been if I'd not been away for the week.

Teddy - what a slamfuck this ownership has been. I was kind of joking when I said a few rounds ago that I'll be annoyed when people pick him up in the 500Ks. Now, if I didn't own him, I think I'd be waiting until he hits the 400Ks. Saw a bit of debate over the weekend about where he ends up by the end of the year, and I don't know. It's anybody's guess, but as an owner since R1, he's going to need to do something he hasn't done yet in 2023 (is it as easy as just a try?) for me to be confident that he's still the gun he has been in the past. Not fun times.

Preston - another good solid unit.

Alamoti - swapped him into my 17 for Carty based on that ballsmack team list change. Much of a muchness in the end. Still need him at CTR coverage but probably time to move on shortly.

Ford - not his best, but solid enough.

    S.Luke - been happy to avoid him all year and kind of wish I'd maintained that mindset. Though plan B was probably Couchman, so I guess it's not all bad? What is bad is that I played him in my 17 this week over;

Carty - well I guess the party is now officially over. Glad he hit his BE, but I guess it's time to look elsewhere. Sure do wish the Eels had played on Thursday night so Hopgood was still in my team and Carty and I could have parted amicably.

Nikorima - again, I guess all you can say is that at least he hit his BE. But watching this, I was kicking myself I'd not played him in my 17, until he stopped scoring Fantasy points. Looks like this one's going to be a dud trade, but hoping he can do something before his time is up.

I.Katoa - not sure what to do here. Scored better than most my players this week, but would still be skeptical about playing him in my 17... but think he is probably the best of the worse options at the moment to slot into that 17th spot. Next week I'll have a loop option, though, so I can play around a bit, I guess.

Sloan - lol, of course he'd do this when I put him down in 21st spot, so displeased I was with him. Anyone see him with a trainer after full time whistle, looking at his ankle? Hoping there's nothing to that so that cash can continue to flow, but I don't know how to decide who to play in my 17 each week.

Anyway, just a few thoughts on my team. At a glance, Carty probably my only "urgent" trade this week, but going to be having a long hard look at Carrigan if I can make something of it. I wonder if JDB/Bird or McInnes/Bird would be options? Lot to consider, but I'm away again this week, so will see what kind of meal I can make of things again...

They're really your only options? Seems tough. Before this weekend I wouldn't have said Katoa, but assuming you plan to get rid of them all at some point he's probably the one that starts losing some cash, I think?

I know it just sounds like hollow encouragement but it’s not. Every single person on here has been where you are right now or will be. The key is not doubling down on those mistakes because you’re frustrated.
Picking Pods while everyone else is grabbing the guys that you’re throwing away will historically just lead to you losing more ground. I just looked at GS team tracker and he’s traded in teddy and is planning on holding for the season.
I’m shit at this game and the way I look at my horrible start every year is just a challenge to trade my way out of. If it’s really that frustrating just switch it up to play for hth instead of overall and bash the poor suckers you call friends and family come hth finals.
