I think I'll just do one trade this week, take a hit and use the 4 next week.  Hoping to have 12 players but filling those spaces means trading out a player or two that I really don't want to.
Hoping for a double figure. At the moment I have 8 for the first bye. Could make that 10 this week and then add another two next week.

Just need to make sure the guys I bring in are available for Round 16 aswell.

    Have 10 atm

Short a HOK (waiting til next week for Robson/JMK/Cook), an EDG (waiting til next week to see if Hopgood makes origin, otherwise maybe Luki or Davey), and a WFB (was planning VTW if he’s named, otherwise may skip this)

I dunno, straight transfer and straight into the starting edge role.  Lane out only helps his cause.  I think it's a really good shout by Mr Minto and actually might grab him too.  40K less than Luki too.

Yeah I don't mind him either.

Eels+Knights numbers for rd14 the problem for me and I'm sure some others, I have 3 already. Could turf Miller after rd13 though.

Yeah I got 19 left (I think like you) and I was hoping to use only 4 before R13 now but it might be 5-6. So that's 13-14. Realistically I probably use 6-8 through Origin, 3-4 to setup the final team in R19-20 before the extra trades come in. It's going to be hairy for a lot of people.

Yeah 19 also. I think 5 for me up to next week. Gotta think ahead to round 14 too. Might need another 2 or 3 just to fill a decent team. Teams that are down to 14-15 trades are gonna find it tough unless they are already well setup for next week.

Having a look at players who are available in round 13 and ideally play some of the other key bye rounds as well. The nrl fantasy app is actually kinda good for this lol.

Got me thinking - what are some players or areas of teams we can target to have bigger roles due to missing players around Origin.

Eg. Who takes over the goalkicking at the Cowbows, with Haas and Carrigan going off to Origin camp which Broncos forwards might get big mins, are there any players who will get way more time on the ball due to the main playmaker missing?

Tapine without Papa and maybe horse
CWalker with no Trell and Cook?
Walsh with no ARey this week (gets the GK) and his desperation for big plays when the side is down could lead to him being even more involved when the big boys are away?
Wighton or Fogarty - Raiders will most likely just miss Papa and maybe Horse. If they can continue their form through Origin, one of these guys could go on a run?

Random one - Isaako😅 lowest score of 27, playing thr Dragons in R13 could be a ballsy af play with big upside if they smash the Dragons in R13 with no Hunt.

Suggestions for players aren't amazing but keen to hear other people's picks for increased roles throughout the Origin period!

Personally I'd rather go Luki over Davey. Price difference is only 46k. Eye test says Luki is an explosive player and if he's got that right edge role for atleast 3 more weeks (whens Nanai back?) I think the fact he's got a huge score and will make good cash in the short term means there's minimal risk with him.

With the Eels not doing well and Davey not a great player IRL, if Davey does lose his role or not get 80 mins it'd be a dud buy

I'm seriously considering Fog over SJ next week at 150K less.

Before last round Ramien scored 15, 24, 21?

I have a soft spot for him when i got him a few years ago and he scored a try every week but seems way down on form this year

I think he's starting to turn the corner, and his bye coverage is very valuable (plays both 16 and 19). He's also up against the Knights this week, and he's got a great record against them, last 4 games against them he's scored 43, 58, 59, 72.

If he was his usual price of 550-600k I wouldn't bother but under 500k he is appealing to me, we know what he's capable of.

Solid points. I'm back and forth at the moment. I feel Gos misses out when Nanai returns.

Looking now, Luki playing round 14 and 16 is a massive plus in his favour.

    I currently have
10 players for rd13 (11 if HTF isn't playing origin)
9 players for rd16 (10 if Hynes doesn't play origin)
9 players for rd19 (10 if Hynes doesn't play origin)

    Not looking too bad

Having a look at your team, you obviously want to aim for 13?  Not sure how many trades you want to burn over the next two weeks or how much money you have but at least centres, halves and hookers are set for now.

    Basically, Lane has to go, that's an easy out.  Looking at it, with Lane, Ford and Manu, I'd probably hold Ford and you're right, not sure Luki would help UNLESS it enables coin to turn Lane into Hopgood?  I guess money in the bank is crucial, but do you have a spare 95K to turn Lane into Tapine?  You've got 10 for next week, so you could aim towards fielding a full 13?  But maybe if you wanted to aim for 13 you could do;

    Lane - Luki
    Hosking - Tapine/Hopgood

    Would look like;

    Robson
    Tap/Hop JDB Matto
    Ford Luki
    SJ Niko
    Bird Null
    Drinkwater Miller ?

Could go Manu to Garrick but sounds like Manu is a hold.  Luki seems like a short term option for you.  Problem is, having Ford too leaves again, a lot of mid range options that will have to be upgraded.

Thanks, Wolfie - all fair and well thought out suggestions, so will definitely mull it over

Yeah, fortunately, I have $167k in savings which will help offset the $80k that Lane has lost me.
Hopgood is still my preferred option for Edge, and was originally aiming for Tohu as the other MID, just got to check my money will balance out as cash generation went from $310k from R10 to just $40k this week (highlights the sudden downturn).

I'm 90% sure I'll just hold Manu, and tempted to persevere with Teddy as well.
I was originally intending on holding Lane through the byes (and hope he gains some form), so with trades tight I might just skip a WFB for R13 and run with 12... maybe...

I have Hosking to Luki as the tentative trade

If I do end up getting Hopgood then can’t afford Davey. Already have Matto, so 3 Eels forwards is overdoing it

Would not surprise me one bit if Hop makes origin though. Slater said he even considered him when he was in Cup last year. Papalii ageing and Welch pretty poor too
