Ponga needs to demand the ball more in the red zone.

Other than the obvious upside of potentially getting the ball back, it's often easier to defend your own line rather than defend 20-30m out. If you tackle them inside the 10, you don't have to fall back as far (easier) and the attack has less room to work shape (easier).
Obvious downside of conceding 2 points though when you get it wrong
Yeah it’s the regular 2 points against.
If they went 20m you’d still get the contest and be defending on your goal line.
For distances I don’t mind the low mullygrub 30-40m dropout into no man’s land, seems as good an option as the 50m one caught on the full. Sets both end up starting 30m out but with less time for receiving team to set

He was involved yeah, but Olakau'atu was the big lad that caused it - should both get the TS thoughMulvy wrote:I was half watching, was it Koula that held up Best?

Yeah agreed. Should aim between the 15-20, not landing on the 10. If you pump them high your guys should easily get there in time. Kick is 'short' by accident and you land it around the 10. Kick it long and it's a semi-normal dropout. Seems to be the correction.robelgordo wrote:

Been MIA for the last 48 hours with a migraine. Anything major I've missed? Disappointed to not be here for the big red celebrations.

Guess it was wishful thinking that Ponga might get the goalkicking.

Scorers obviously don't have Crossland-gave him a minus 2 for that instead of a try Assist...

At least he's not doing a Turbo (who he replaced in my team) and forcing his way back into the Qld side.

Stopped Lachlan Croker from the clean catch, saving a try. Not his fault that it also resulted in a try!
