"South Sydney five-eighth Cody Walker has received a stunning recall as NSW attempt to avoid the embarrassment of a State of Origin clean sweep on home soil next week.

Walker, who played the last of his four games for NSW in 2020, will be joined in the Blues squad for Origin III by Rabbitohs teammate Keaon Koloamatangi, who is expected to make his debut at Accor Stadium."

Edit - Apparently Walker is on the bench, Luai/Moses halves

    Haas out

So now Walker gets 12 mins to make a defensive mistake when subbed on at CTR

This is pretty closely to throwing mud at a wall and seeing what sticks. No strategy at all.

The strategy appears to be appoint the next in line for our halves, but then ditch him if he isn't a good centre.

DCE took a while to establish himself at Queensland, and copped some criticism at first, so hopefully Hynes can come back from this.

But what is NSW planning for here? picking a team to win this game? Picking a team to win 2024?

If they were picking the fun players, Booze would only have Kiwis for R19.

Anyone else looking at loading up on Halves for their final team ? I currently have Hynes+ SJ starting plus Moses and Boyd on the bench. Looking at adding DCE and potential Munster aswell who are absolute bargains!

With enough dual position players across my team I reckon it is more than viable. Same as the hooker strategy from years gone by.

Halves are the new hookers baby 😎

    Most Kiwis are fun

Koloamatangi named, maybe he should have been added to that recent origin numbers poll after I mentioned him Wink
Look forward to seeing this cooked blues list, going to be a doozy

Just checked the L1 league, lucky I don't play H2H as would be like 5th or 6th depending on +/-

If Cook is still on the bench then Walker won't have to worry about playing there Laughing

Walker on the bench will be excellent for Cookie Round 19 chances.

I reckon he doesn't make it based on Koloamatangi playing
They were talking up his 'played 80mins hooker for tonga' angle and Cook + Walker makes a light pack if Haas isn't there
But then its Fittler so do the opposite

I have Koloa, who has been a bit of a dud with not recapturing his pre-injury form, and Horse of course, of course. So went from being oversubscribed in the forwards to down one.

I guess I'll have to get the most fun player of all... de Belin Rip

However, looking like I will have two hookers with Cook. Plus a half with Hynes. Now just need SJs missus to go into labour ASAP and I'm sorted.

Freddie's still waiting for the players to call him back. Might see unknown rookie Brett Fiddler make his debut at 51 years old.
