Does Averillo become a cash out Ctr now he’s fullback?

Coach wil have to stick with him there for a few weeks atleast and he was decent last year

Yeah, I'm pretty tempted to take a punt on him.

if SJ plays and KNik miraculously gets WFB DPP added before lockout I could play with 13 this week.

But should be able to use 12 scorers this week without trading. Which is not a bad position.

Any cheap guy worth a punt?

If you're going to take the red dot, at least get a score out of them this week.

Lovett might be a good one week shout, but depends what position you need.
Or Munro from the bunnies might be the most useful for this week position wise, with a chance of scoring in other weeks too

Owned Perham for a while and he had pretty decent base stats for a while. Is Averillo a better player?

Perham has been garbage in real life recently

Dan Ginnane on the weekend was commentating on radio and said if Perham was an animal you’d take him out the back and shoot him

H2H player so not playing this week.

So looking for a guy who could be usefull later on or a red dot.

    This is my 17-21

    Bula
Simpkin (Will upgrade when he is out)
Sandon Smith - (will upgrade when he goes out)
Kris - (my good WFB/C cover)
    Fainu - dud (red dot)

plan was Bula to cheap guy then Simpkin/Sandon up to a Origin guy/Cleary after this round.

Probably looking at Kepaoa as cashout this week. Kris is slightly more expensive alternative but bye next week

Nofoaluma dropped, but Kepaoa could end up EDG and be great, or bench and be bad

Buying a red dot won’t be as fruitful this year because byes add to absences and bye players would be better loopers anyway

DPP update post R20. I was just 'what-if'ing my way to a full team this week.

    3 options for me

Munro (complete cash out for maximum cash for future rounds) 240k

Montoya (dial, g good job security, can score well, like nz fixtures) 380k

Sione katoa (sharks winger, capable of big scores and bad scores) 381k

I see advantages in Montoya and he would be useful further down track if needed

Munro allows best use of money to upgrade in rd 20

I’m leaning Montoya as I won’t have enough trades later if have injury catastrophe in centre and wfb

Anyone feel strongly one way or the other

Outside chance he nabs Talau/Naden's centre spot too. Neither of them have been particularly inspiring to say the least.

I have 11 this week including Blore.

Stuck between getting a keeper at CTR like for instance a Penisini but then having Manu/Lemmy/Penisini as well as Simonsson for the home stretch. Or getting a one/two week wonder and put money away for Fifita/Cleary.

    Anyone care to weigh in?

Posted this yesterday about a decision between Katoa and Montoya

filthridden wrote:Montoya would be my pick of these two.

Sharks tend to hit Nikora or Kennedy before the ball gets to Katoa at the moment.

Montoya also seems to have a better base.
He's looked a bit off the past couple of weeks and would've scored pretty poorly if he didn't jag those tries though.
Seemed to be shying away from kick returns and often getting crunched/pushed back when taking a hit up.

    EDIT:

Wow kick returns really dropped off more than I thought:

Averaging 39m kick returns this season.

    round: kick return ms:

    10: 70m
    11: 77m
    13: 28m
    14: 51m
    15: 52m
    17: 6m
    18: 11m

So long story short I don't see Katoa going as well as Montoya unless their gameplan changes a bit or Hynes/Kennedy/Nikora's form drop off but Montoya has not been going as well the past couple of weeks.
