Figured to create this thread separate as different strategy and may get overrun by main thread chat

Starts from R21 NRL and R1 NRLW and runs until GF

    Mixer League Code: K0F5NV8T

    Website: mixer.nrl.com
Rules: 1 player from each fantasy position, 3 NRL, 3 NRLW with captain for each NRL and NRLW

Last year’s total point leaders: https://www.nrl.com/news/2022/10/04/bundy-mixer-team-of-the-year/

Lone Scout top 10 prospects https://www.nrl.com/news/2023/07/12/top-10-bundy-mixer-prospects-in-2023/

nrlw.yafss.com has NRLW stats (I don’t think previous season average incorporated)

NRLW Roosters finished top last year but didn’t make final (Knights winners and Eels runner up)

New NRLW teams Raiders and Sharks have recruited best with Dragons & Eels being decimated https://www.nrl.com/news/2023/01/01/2023-nrlw-signings-tracker-latest-signings-news-details-contracts-signings-updates/

Personally pre next weeks TLT, HLF HOK have to be NRL given there’s no real standout NRLW HOK and Cleary Hynes average 70s. Likewise WFB (Upton, Tonegato, Vette-Welsh) CTR (Kelly, Sergis) are usually best NRLW positions and then tossup between MID and EDG

I’ll be in. I thought the tigers had a decent looking team but the fact you seem to know what you’re talking about and didn’t mention them doesn’t bode well

It does have all the data, just forgot to bump the filter up a year, good spot!

    I will do that now.

I'm going to try to get some reserve grade and international stats in there at some point. Mainly to check out Mele Hufanga's numbers.

    Grant
    Boyle
    Fifita
    Hynes
    Kelly
    Upton

I think Camo has it pretty dead on.

Grant, Cleary/Hynes, Kelly pretty much pick themselves.

If you feel like fading Kelly, Fogavini is the Bird/Lemuelu of the NRLW, she's a CTR playing 2nd Row and put up really nice numbers in the BMD Premiership this season.

Fifita is pretty close to an auto selection too. Amber Hall is the NRLW Fifita, but doesn't have the floor or ceiling.

A fun play would be to take Haas and Hall rather than Fifita and NRLW MID.

Boyle will be the highest owned MID, but I think Taufa, Brill (if playing Lock) and Hale are worth a good look.

WFB is where there is some ground to make, with so many people picking Tonegato - she's playing 5/8 this year, so not sure she gets the same amount of touches. I'd go Upton.

Mixer gets more interesting towards the finals with less players to choose.

Looks like the weakest NRLW teams are Eels, Dragons and Cowboys

Possibly contemplating chasing Tago points v Dogs and going Hall at EDG, Fifita looked to be hampered by the back tightness

    So far on
    Grant (locked in)
    Taufa (locked in)
    Fifita/Hall
Cleary/Hynes (locked in, Cleary if fit)
    IKelly/Tago
    Upton (mostly locked in)

^^basically my team, with Fifita/Kelly combo

I think MID is the most interesting spot, Boyle was consistently the most popular pick last year due to name recognition, but other players have games that translate better to fantasy IMO

Emma Tonegato just mentioned on Face to Face she was a former beach sprinter, might be why she’s popular

If you picked and weren’t planning on checking again my team is completely different to the one I selected so worth a double check

Tonegato named in the halves for the Sharks
Maddie Studdon not even making the bench is a surprise.

Gale Broughton also named in the halves after playing all of last year at fullback.

I just scraped and added some data to nrlw.yafss.com from the Rugby League World Cup. Mainly to have a look at Mele Hufaga and Fran Goldthorp.

If you filter by games between Aus, NZ and England, they both averaged high 30s. Small sample size though.

The usual suspects had great world cups from a fantasy perspective, Hall, Hale, Kelly, Taifua.

Juist looking for some out of position goodness
There's quite a few WNRL MIDs named on the edge, but

Laishon Albert Jones (Knights) is EDG in mixer, named at lock, but marked with a red cross in the system, has played 5/8th for New Zealand

Kennedy Cherrington (eels) another EDG named at lock - and has reasonable fantasy pedigree too.
if you don't want to go Fifita at EDG she's not a bad shout

Just trying to toss up whether to play safe and go the same as everyone, or take a punt or 2

Thinking Liam Martin up against the dogs with Cleary back instead of Fifita. Calculated risk. could get 40 could get 80.
