In my case Green - Auva'a would give me the extra cash needed to go Welch - BLaw....Auva'a is next man up in the Rabs back line so decent chance he regains a starting role with any injuries etcSpeedball Deluxe wrote:I can't understand the trades that are talking about Green > Auva'a/CheeKam/anyone-not-listed-as-a-starting-player.
Why would you make this trade? Green isn't losing any money sitting there, and the players people are talking about trading in don't have a confirmed starting spot, seems like trading craziness. Surely Green sits there until a 130k-ish player gets a confirmed starting spot that they will have for more than a week or two and stand a good chance of securing the spot long term.
With Auva'a I can see him coming off the bench and scoring less than 10 points two games in a row, then where does that leave him, with a huge break even where he will takes weeks and weeks to even come close to making money, and may never make money like K.niko last year.
Personally I'm all for trading out players in your 17 who have flopped/not performed etc like evans/lam etc, but trading Green to another player in the category of 'maybe might make money, not even listed on team list' is well.... *scratches head*

Quite unfair to list his 19 considering he was levelled early in the game (by that ridiculous Taupau forearm) and didn't return.
Bird is the best centre option who actually plays centre.

That's fair enough. A valid reason for sure.Welshy wrote:

But what do you base that on ('best centre')? He didn't play centre in a single game last year as far as I can see from NRL stats (had 38 mins off interchange round 4, don't know where he played that, but otherwise was in the halves from round 5 onwards). I have no idea how/if he played in 2014.CubanMafiaSandSlugs wrote:

I agree entirely, however, if the cash is needed to upgrade a mid range player to a rising gun, ie Evans to Trbojevic, then I think it has merit.Speedball Deluxe wrote:I can't understand the trades that are talking about Green > Auva'a/CheeKam/anyone-not-listed-as-a-starting-player.

Didn't Hodgson just score 60 odd & he's playing 80 minutes.

yep - hence the "am i stupid" part.. haha. though i can see parcel locking down the 9 and pumping out scores. he tackles all day that kid. and it would allow me to upgrade evans to a 50+ point player..
but i still think its dumb to trade hodgson, the conservative that i am..

I say go for it. When Canberra returns to 'normal' in a few weeks, Hodgson will be back sharing with Baptise. Whitehead will be back in the 2nd row and Seizer/Austin will be back in the halves.
Yeah man. Take a risk and do it!

Also bear in mind that the Raiders play the first bye round & Manly don't. I do like the Evans to J. Trbo trade but obviously you need the first trade to make it work. Maybe just focus on players that play the first bye round.

So I have two choices.. Which one makes sense to pull the trigger on earlier?
B. Ferguson -> H. Hunt
or
J. Nikorima -> M. Parcell

I know others will say they are good trades but I disagree. Niko still has cash to make so you are essentially trading one cash cow for another. I guess you would have to look at the total cash made from here on out between the two and decide if the additional trade is worth the cash generated. Fergo has been scoring like he is busted however how much of that is in part to the Roosters as a whole playing like shit? If he is in your CTR's I can understand you making the trade to Hunt however what happens if he only averages 30 from here on out and Fergo kicks it up a gear like we have seen previously?

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 17
There are so many questions here about trading in cash cows who are halfway towards their goal already. This seems weak to me. Better to find the next TMM and trade him in before his first game. The talk should be more about zero-gamers than one-, two- or three-gamers.

Although having said that, there aren't any zero-gamers picked this week so I guess I can shut up.

Jnik and Taylor are dud cows compared to Parcell and TMM so I'm taking the risk. I have to look at generating cash and with Surgess and Taupau back next week I think my team is in ok shape and ranked 2600

Biting the bullet on J-Nik to Parcell. J-Turbo can wait another week and that's good because chances are he'll get injured and be gone for three weeks, right? Ha.
Smith (Parcell)
Evans
Parker, Whitehead, Rochow (Jafiti)
DCE, Walker (Taylor, Hastings)
Hunt, Gutherson
Tedesco, T-Turbo, Mitchell
Barba/Lafai will be my 18th man coming in for my lack of Burgess, Gavet and Leuluai.
If Mitchell doesn't start then I play Barba and Lafai is my 18th man.
Not ideal but hopefully won't drop too many points.
