Pretty sure for bye players, ranks are added straight away but not for red dots. I got a rank jump last week in the last game with two red dots.

Since the NRL changed the way it deals with carryover points being reset at the start of the season it has meant that serial offending players who would normally be getting a 1 or 2 week suspension throughout the year for various infringements now just accumulate fines until near the end of season where after so many fines they finally get a suspension and the punishments seem way to harsh for the level of offenses committed. See JDB, JWH, Horse etc.

*I'm happy for JWH and most importantly Rabbits21 too.

Either more trades or bring back the bigger squads next year. This iteration of fantasy is a complete joke

Can't predict this level of carnage, holding 8 trades for the last 2 rounds, just in case they come in handy. The earlier they are used, the more points they provide.

Even if they give us more trades, I'm confident anyone who saves more than 4 trades for the last 2 weeks next year won't be ranked high enough for the saved trades to make a difference, even if the carnage repeats

The NRL won't be happy about all the restings especially with what were supposed to be blockbuster games, but there isn't much they can do about it. The AFL tried a final round bye for a while but had to scrap it because it meant there were top 4 teams only playing once in a 4 week period over finals and it was hurting them more than helping.

That's why I expect the NRL Fantasy to switch trades to something like 36 in round 1, 6 extra in round 20, and 2 extra in round 27 next year.

Even max trading (4) wouldn’t get most a full team this week. When Penrith announce their final team list there may be a few who will have gone from 19/20 players last week to single digits this week.

You can’t really manage for that.

If Manu doesn’t play I’ll have 11 red dots so only 10 green dots and one of those is Kris.

    Out…

    Hopgood
    Penis
    Grant
    Ponga
    Haas
    Colouqhun
    SJ
    Walsh
    Manu
    Bateman
    Horse

I’ve never seen carnage like it!

Surely only 10 green dots is under par this week.

Tough shit for those players who actually have a real one week injury

Real injuries can be certified by an NRL appointed Doctor (not club doctor) and suspension must be applied on GF day.
    That should stop this b/s

It may be reactive, but wouldn't be massively surprised to see R27 classed as a 13-player bye-style round next year. Has the advantage to fanhub of being a piss easy change to make.

Are real fans - as opposed to those with interests in fantasy teams or betting accounts - all that bothered by the restings?

If you've earned the right to rest key players and make a balanced assessment of what team you want to put out and what best suits your goals, then why shouldn't you play who you want.

The whole point of playoffs rather than ladder deciding who the champions are is that the fixture list isn't balanced anyway, so none of this is inconsistent.

*Edit* sorry, that was supposed to be a response to the idea of NRL doctors signing off on injuries, which is not a realistic idea.
