Round 27 made most of us feel cursed, but it was particularly rough for our runner up.
The Silver medal goes to; boozecluez
After a stellar season, having so many key players out in the last round was an incredible spell of misfortune.
However, with the roughest (bus) ride of all, the Gold medal goes to; Camo123
(let's hope it's nothing a good icepack on your noggin can't fix)
Well deserved Camo, hopefully you don't go back to back.
Good luck for next year!

easytiger wrote:There are currently 4 awards that are deadlocked, and a further 5 that are only a vote or two in it.
So I am going to extend the deadline in the interim.
If you haven't already voted; you don't have to vote for every category, but any you do will be gratefully received.
The first awards will be announced tomorrow.
Interesting.
Completely unrelated, but I heard Snatch works as a Parking Inspector on School Holidays...

THE "SAM WORTHINGTON" BEST AVATAR
In a close-run affair, there were more than 15 different nominations.
Getting the Bronze medal for this outstanding effort is Talfal
A number of fanatics took some time out from their night time showers to vote for Savethecheerleader's avatar, earning him? the Silver medal.
Whether it was that cheeky cheese-grin, or the unwavering popularity of our favourite bunny killing soft cock contender, there was no stopping Snatchpato from picking up the Gold medal with this great TV moment;

No Worries and ForanAgainst put up some good competition for the best usernames and both get to share the Silver.
However, on a tough night for Raiders fans, Papadontbleach can take some consolation in winning the Gold medal with more votes than the Silver medalists combined.
Another worthy winner! Unlucky to not win best avatar too! Well done Papa!

BEST TEAM NAME
After winning the best username, Papa don't bleach was good enough to share the Silver with Camo123's Rudolf the red-nosed Rein Dearden.
It was the brilliant strategy of frequently updating his team name at the top on the rankings that saw Boozecluez take home the Gold, with
Don't pay for NRL Fantasy Pro a particularly popular favourite.
Congrats Booze!

THE TIM SIMONA AWARD FOR WORST PREDICTIONS:
(Who should never bet again)
Once again, Mattnz took the Gold medal with some wonderfully terrible predictions.
The multiple incarnations of NAS and the Kaeo Weekes experiment spring to mind.
Mattnz certainly marches to the beat of his own drum, and in that, we salute you.
*There were no honourable mentions in this category

Re: 2023 NRL FANATICS AWARDS
I think I blanked on any worst predictions when voting, but me and a few others trashing Lachy Miller pre-season deserves an honourable mention
It turned out he wasn't quite a NRL 1st grade standard FB, but the parts where he was good equalled fantasy points. See also: Jayden Campbell, Tyrell Sloan. Basically at a low enough price you don't have to be a good fullback, just involved in the attack and a bit flashy.
