International footballer is a 1 cap appearance in a meaningless game against France (who are certainly not at the quality they once were)

I'd suggest Horse who has played an Origin and been in the extended squad for a while is certainly the most likely to play the higher minutes of the two.

That being said; English forwards have often transitioned well into the NRL and Smithies might have been a lot more interesting (and less risky) if he was sub $400k

Horse would have had to have been the best Raider last season. Can't see him losing minutes following a great breakout season.

Raiders forwards stocks are in a transition phase. Whitehead and Big Papa have to make way in the next couple of seasons for the likes of Mooney to cement a proper spot (or risk losing him). Smithies is part of that transition (surely) and clogs up the middle very well.

I keep hearing this about Josh Papali'i, but not from him.
Putting it in context he is 4 years younger than JWH, 3 years younger than Whitehead, J Bromwich, Mark Nicholls. Marty Taupau etc.
He's towards the end of his career, but there's not much reason why he can't still bang out a quality 45 minute spell

He's more suited to shorter stints now. JWH and Papa have completely different body shapes. Papa 100% can play a role for Raiders, but wouldn't be surprised to see him move on in the next couple of years (or take a paycut and play a limited role).

Willison in the Broncos Trial, as well as Mariner. Take that as you will.

Big Papa is determined this season to win back the coveted 'Biggest shorts in the NRL' title from current holder Junior Paulo.

Apparently he's been bumping the house down with his tailored centre of gravity focused program and is set for big minutes in the middle in a bid to start the season off with a leg driven post contact meterage bonanza.

Interesting to see Mam planning to end up as Broncos 7, if he starts getting some kicking in play, he could be worth considering.

He's not *bad*. He might go well enough tightening up the Raiders defence, but he's straight up and down, not a lot of attack there.

Is Ben Te Kura the one who's supposed to be Payne Haas if Payne Haas had just eaten Payne Haas? That's the Matt pick.

More talk around that J. Campbell won’t be good for round 1.

I’m looking at Munro or Sivo?

    TU: Munro 350k
    TD: Sivo 429k

He is 6'9", gets compared more with NAS. I'll be interested to see which of Willison and him have the motor to play big minutes.

My current pick for the next Haas is Sam Hughes, same height, just 4kg lighter and has the huge motor for big minutes.

So Hughes to stay in the squad all year and Te Kura to be in and out of it five times? 😉

Don't know if mentioned, cash cow fans, but both Flanagan and Ben Hunt have talked up rookie Dylan Egan as a possible for the Dragons edge spot. Not on system yet but assume 230k when he is.
