Wait for Coates to get cheap, buy him for a run of scores, sell him once he starts with a 4 again.

I suspect AKP and Saab fit the same model, but less attractively because of playing for worse teams who put on fewer cricket scores.

So, Souffs could put on a few points against Manly, probably won't against Broncs/Roosters, then may against Doggies/Wahs.

If that tempts you into thinking Munro will Coates-it, or provides enough cheap WFB coverage to be tempted, then go nuts. I may!

    But... probably won't.

You mention Coates, he's actually not much more than Munro and I think a much better winger and more likely to get that run of scores.

That said I don't currently intend on owning any of these 300-400k WFBs with no base, would rather wait until they get cheap as you described.

Sloan is a prime candidate for this kind of thing, he's 465k now but I would think he gets down below 300k at some point (as long as he keeps the FB spot that is)

That's why you wait until he gets below 300k, then buy and hold until he gets back over 400k, then sell and be done with him.

Or better yet, grab the $230k guys like Iro when they get a chance, for decent scoring.

JWH has had spells as the best prop in the world. Tom probably hasn't had a single season as the best player in his family

FWIW we had our first about this time last year and I had career fantasy season. I think there's a bit of history of people doing well in the year of their first kid so look forward to seeing you be this year's Booze.

I can second this, mine was born 2022, the 4am wake up calls meant I got to watch near enough every game last year lol!

If Coates times his dip to be just after the Melbourne bye then he'll be worth a look as a cash down.

As for the start of the season, non-base price wingers who aren't workhorses/tackle-busters? No thank you. If Munro was 250k I might stash him in the 18-21 and hope for a run of scores to generate cash as opposed to playing him every week, but can't do that with a 350k guy.

Issue is we mightn’t get many options if we have to go with 2 expensive centres and take Pap and Raiders FB then will be hard to afford Ponga whilst wanting a strong pack and 14-21……..

    At this stage I have

    Penisini Suli
    Pap Raiders FB Munro

As I can’t afford an expensive 3rd WFB without compromising other positions that I place higher than the backs

Tom has still been a great player for us very important to our go forward. It’s no coincidence in games he’s missed the last 5 years our win rate drops without him.

Yes Tass will play right. First 2 rounds Kennar will play left centre I reckon he’s been training there.

Even if Munro is a bit shaky early on I think we need to persist with him and be patient he’s the future.

To MS on Tom whether it’s a joke or not it’s not fair to call him a plodder he’s played plenty at international level and is a premiership winner and still a key part of our go forward. As much as I hate JWH I wouldn’t say he’s been a plodder in his career.

TBF in comparison to his twin, Tom was a plodder at NRL, never had any explosive seasons like George first 2 years. Doesn't make him a bad player but could never change a pack with just him added

JWH has been near the top of the prop game for a long time, top, top level NRL prop. Not sure the hardest Souffs fan could ever call him a plodder and believe it

How about Bostock? Started slow then all of a sudden had 20 runs to go with his easy corner put down against the Warriors. Think he might have figured out the winger’s role.

I'd rather wait and see with him, that round 3 bye is handy for that.

Roosters have 3 FBs and 2 of them piss off to rugby rather than help a battling NRL team out. I mean the Illawarra is basically the French Riviera of the southern hemisphere, there’s no difference Joey!

Anyway can’t wait for them to spend all of the money on whatever FB they want to replace Teddy down the line. When is Reece Walsh off contract?

Tuipolotu to Dragons confirmed. I don’t mind it. Don’t think he starts, seems like he’s replaced Corey Allan as a depth signing
